Fair enough... I can see there's some value there charlie. But there's absolutely no detail about its condition. You gotta wonder why its off the road, no rego and in a little bit of a state. Its had a very bodgey paint job. Can't see a muffler and conveniently no pic of the left side! Seems a bit sus to me.
It'll be interesting to see what it goes for.

The bloke's certainly spent a few $ on that bike, the Motogadget equipment isn't cheap.
There are some nice touches on the bike however, after all that effort, after all those man hours, he's ended up with the bike wearing odd wheels and it's not that difficult to get a 1200 K wheel on the front end.

.....and Trail tyres?
It must be a matter of taste-not mine that's for sure.

First of all, I'm gunna go into my immoderator mode, for a reasonable six or seven grand you'd have a bike that looks like most of the chopped, whacked, bodged café  bikes out there, but it's certainly not worth anywhere north of $20K, even in Strayl-yun dollas!

His eBay ad wordage comes across like a bit of a 'carni', a travelling salesman, all huff, puff and bravado. It's a cobbled mess, most of it from catalogues. I wonder how much of it he actually had a hand in. Money and talk. The latter comes cheap.

This "purist K fan" isn't terribly impressed. Money on the fact that he had a look at this forum for ideas, is maybe even a member. Come on mate, shout you a drink and we can chin wag about your unique custom...

Bloody hell, Admits to an oil leak from the vent hole on the bottom of the bell housing.  After all that work, he didn't even bother to change the main rear seal or check for transmission leaks.  Means he probably didn't grease the clutch splines either.  The new sucker owner will have to strip the bike to fix.  Hmm. :joker:

When I had a peek at the ad, I must admit to not reading all the B.S. but having read Robmack's comment, I went in a little further and noted;  "Engine was completely stripped"  Probably not though eh?....and then; "Mechanically the bike is perfect...... New seals and gaskets on the engine covers."
If that's the case and as Robmack correctly pointed out then why...."I have just noticed that there is a small oil leak from the clutch assembly just near the battery box / stand. This is most likely the rear main seal or clutch 0-ring have deteriorated. I have purchased the parts needed to replace these, along with the clutch retention bolts and washers which are needed every time the clutch is removed. These will come with the sale. You may attempt to replace these on your own as it is not that difficult."

Yeah right, that's why he couldn't be bothered to do it  or more likely, get his professional friend to do it for him. lol!

Blimey O'Reilly - you lot are are a hard bunch to please! Show some respect - it's taken the dude 40 weeks to take a one previous owner bike and undo all the good work that BMW did 30 or so years ago and create this thing. In life, it takes 40 weeks to create a bastard child too!

It probably took him 38 of those weeks just to write the ad - a pity it doesn't stand up to scrutiny from purist cyniKs.
Who knows, there might be someone out there with the cash who won't "waste his time" and buy it. There's always room for one more in the lunatic asylum! Lucky that he is not in a rush to sell and really wants to keep it himself though.

OK enough being "nice" (my general dislike of taking something good and turning it into something else overwhelms me)

I do wonder at the "minimalist" look - FFS the K100 engine and fuel tank are the size of a small London apartment - miniaturising everything else on the bike just makes it look even more bloated (IMHO).

"The bike certainly gets attention wherever it goes, and I have lost count of how many conversations I have had with the people wanting more details about the bike on the street." It has only gone 100km since he "finished" (finished apart from the RF ignition and the leaky seals - funny how those were missed during the complete engine strip down). Personally, I've lost count of how many conversations I haven't had because I can't converse easily with people on the street when I am actually out using my bikes for what they were skilfully designed for - that'd be actually riding them over the many thousands of miles. Of course you can ride many thousand miles in all weathers on mine - and not drown or have a road spray enema.

# Mike, for that price you can't expect a not oil leaking bike :-)

For that price I would prefer a model younger than 8/91 with the new Showa fork and the other stuff that has been changed.
The clutch must be new, the gearbox perfect and new electric wiring, all the air/fluid tubes should be new.

In the end it's 1000€ bike with 2000€ new parts
It's a nice well designed bike anyway

And you know anything with café in the name is worth 5000€ extra ;-)

Cheers

Cool

:cry:Sorry not for me, all the effort you say and it still has a plank for a seat, my piles would never forgive me for the abuse they would have on that seat.

It appears to be another style these days rip a bike apart and call it a work of art and try and sell it for megabucks, and now you can buy a new bike that's been " customised " to look like these take parts off and hike up the price.

Ok I will get of my soap box now getting old or its pre xmas grumps bah humbug.

Another "One of a Kind"

Nice bike, reasonably priced but someone please explain this intriguing blurb: "It was the prize bike given by BMW for the 1996-1997 winter Olympics"

Can you imagine this being ceremoniously hung around your neck?

A Piper Seneca is an aeroplane.    The yellow mower looking thingy is the tractor for manoeuvring the Piper Seneca around the hanger by yourself.  Sheeesh!

It might be an idea to go back to wrapping Christmas presents, Mr. Blakey.

Wow fancy getting a 10 year old bike given to you for winning at the Olympics. I would be very inclined to insert it in their fundamental orrifice.
