This evolved in another thread so I thought I'd bump it up with it's own title/thread here.

The OEM HES for our Ks, Bosch 2AV54 is no longer available but there are other options. This CYHME56 HES from a manufacturer in Germany is a complete match and their pricing is very low. You can buy singularly from them but they have cheaper pricing for 5-9 and 10 or more.

I'm Placing an order for Aussie Forum members early next week if anyone wants to buy in. We've already got more than enough members to make a purchase at a great price. If you're in another country, I could post to you at your cost but it may be worthwhile to compare the price with purchasing direct as they're pretty cheap anyway.

Like me, I guess everyone is getting a set just to have on hand, so probably not necessary to post out at extra cost but just hand them over at a meet. Maybe order just one or share a set with a member close by.

10 x CYHME56 hall sensors @€9.23€92.30
Registered air mail to Australia  €15.00
TOTAL   €107.30
Cost landed for a set of two €21.46
AU$ per set of two$30.13
..........................Approx USD$24.50

All the information from the supplier is HERE
Information about how to fit them is HERE

Reply below if you want in. Don't if you've already replied in the previous thread.

Next week I'll do a count, work out the costs and PM all involved

Hey Kaptain,

Other than having a real K100 tech available 24/7 with this forum, you are now telling us that we can save money when buying part!
I am glad that I registered to the K100-forum
Thanks for offering a bulk buy to the members.

Cheers,

Bert

Just want to add my bit here.  Putting these sensors on the original backing plate is not just a matter of screws. You need to grind out rivets and replace the sensors by using small screws with nyloc nuts. What I have done is to replace the old ones and then prepare the ones I carry so they can be done easily at the roadside. You need to look into this because it will make the difference of getting going quickly and not at all unless you have the required tooling with you.

Bert, this forum is certainly a great resourse for K100 tech. I don't know what I would do without the information and help contained here in this site or the opportunity to share and converse with other K owners. It's invaluable due largely to your contribution in getting this site up and running and to many others who have contributed from their years of experience. Thank you All  BULK BUY - Hall Effect Sensors - CLOSED 112350

Good advice Rick. Thanks. I can appreciate that riveting sensors at roadside would be very difficult. Is the nyloc nut method a permanent fix?

I've included a link in post #1 to a document written for airheads on analysing and replacing sensors. The basics apply to Ks as well. The instructions for fitment starts on page 10. Its not a straightforward job when utilizing the pre-installed rivets so Rick's nyloc nut method could be a saviour.

So far we have an order for 26 sensors and I'm sure they will discount a little further again on that quantity.
I have emailed them to confirm if they will post to multiple addresses so owners in other countries... this could be an opportunity too. I'll confirm early next week.

SEE THE TOP POST FOR THE DEAL

I went back to the earlier post and navigated to the installation tutorial.  It emphasizes the importance of the condition of the wires in the loom and the fact that the OEM wires are not suitable for service in such a hot environment.  Apparently the wires commonly available are not up to the task. This raises a question in my mind.  Does anyone know if the wires that may accompany the new sensors are of sufficiently good quality to use in our application? Hi brickrider. I've looked into this and a couple of points...

That article has been written specifically for airheads. Apparently, problems with the sensor wiring due to heat is more common with R series and not so much with Ks. (can someone confirm that?)

The CYHME56 tech sheet (on the last page at the bottom) says...

"The material of the leads is an irradiation cross-linked polymeric plastic material, which is very suitable for automotive applications."

AFAIK this was not the case with the Honeywell 2AV54.

Cross-linked polymers are stronger and more resistant to heat so it would seem that the CYHME56 will be a more reliable component than the oem in this regard, but only time will tell.

One other fact I've found out is that the CYHME56 has hollow rivets which are easier to install than the 2AV54 which had solid ss rivets.

Just bumping this up to the top.

We now have 32 sensors for an order.

Hopefully will hear back from supplier tonight re posting to other destinations and possibly a better price for this quantity.

See the top post for the deal, although the figures will change now... for the better.

Just got an email from the supplier. They will post the order out to 3 or 4 other destinations no problem. So if members in other countries would like to take advantage of this deal you will need to nominate someone who'll to take delivery and get them distributed. I think any additional postages will need to be met by that group or individual members.
If you're out on your own then buy-in with the group that's closest to you rather than have yours sent to the Antipodes and back.

I'm pretty sure that if members use Paypal to pay there will be no bank fees for international transfers but there may be a small Paypal fee of around 2% which the sender can elect to pay, otherwise I get to pay everyones fee on my account which I don't want. It'll be about €0.45 each.

I may have to pay for the sensors by Mastercard and that will incurr a fee of AUD$25 which I'll add to the total cost if that happens. I have requested to pay by Paypal but not heard back.

10 - (indicated in post #1) €9.23
50 - €8.00 (roughly 15% discount)
100 - €7.38 (roughly 20% discount)

We have 32 right now.

You can see the original deal in post #1

Also, there's important info about fitting these sensors in post #6 and #10

If its ok with those Ozzies (and 2 Yanks) who have already indicated interest I will hold off just a few days to hear back from others OS. Just trying to give everyone a fair opportunity.

Sorry if this is starting to sound complicated.
I would welcome any thoughts on a better way to do this

Cheers

If you need to make up numbers to get the better price, I'd go an extra set or 2 to hold in stock for possible future member needs. If another person in another area or state wants to do the same, that may help too.

I really appreciate your willingness to undertake this purchase, Kaptain.  With the number of purchases seeming to grow with each day, this does become complicated.  I'll volunteer to be a distributor of the sensors to buyers here in the US, if that helps.

Looks like there's no more interest so I'm going to close this off first thing tomorrow morning aest and proceed with the order as soon as I can confirm price, delivery and payment details with the supplier.

At this point I've tallied up 34 sensor units from Ozzie members and 4 from US members =38

Indian036, I've not included those extras as it seemed like a whim just to get the numbers up but not necessary now as we are still 12 short of the next price bracket. Thanks anyway. However if you would like to confirm any extras just reply in a post mate.

If anyone would like to change their order, now is the time to do that.
I'll send everyone a PM sometime tomorrow confirming payment details. Please PM me if you haven't heard from me by the end of tomorrow

Stock and price has been confirmed from the manufacturer in China and because they are trading in US$ instead of euro the price will come down by about 50¢. They are exactly the same unit.
I'm just waiting for them to confirm AU and US postage costs.

I sent a PM to everyone yesterday asking to send me an email so I can message everyone in bulk email. Too time consuming individually thru PM. Still some I haven't recieved. (if you're worried about email privacy, I use bcc and will delete addresses when this is completed)
Please include your user name and postal address if you want them posted out.
I will email everyone a price and my bank details hopefully later tomorrow providing I have everyones details.  I will not be placing the order untill everyone has paid up. The longer this takes the more our dollars fluctuates. Could be good... could be bad?? so please attend to it asap.

If you want them posted, unfortunately they will need to go parcel post as they will be just 5mm too thick for envelope postage. Cheapest parcel post is a $8.25 sachel.
If the guys in VIC and WA want to hook up and share a parcel, let me know.

Everyone else, I guess if there is no rush to take delivery we can hand them over at a meet up sometime in the very near future.

US guys... Got .75's address. Just waiting for brickrider to send me his so I can get price for postage. China factory send direct. Very Happy

Please, try and make it easy for me. It hasn't been all that difficult to here but it could get messy if we end up going back and forth with details.

Cheers

Just an update on this.
Sensors were ordered and paid for late last week. Final bill with conversion and fees worked out to be just $2 more than I calculated so all good and the whole thing was pretty painless.

Just waiting on three to pay. If you no longer wish to participate please let me know. No problem.
Thanks to everyone who coughed up quick.
They should arrive sometime later this week.

Sensors have been posted to those who requested them to be posted. Aussies should be receiving those about now. US contingent should get their's over the next week or so I guess.

All went fairly smoothly. Just a small hiccup with the postage. I've emailed/PM'd everyone about that.

I'll catch up with some of the Aussies over the next month or so and we can distribute the ones I have here.

If you'd like them posted let me know. Worked out a bit cheaper than I originally calculated.

Thanks for everyones interest.
