So after owning a variety of different bikes, a friend of mine kept nagging me to get a K100. His bike has done about 130k miles he has owned it for about 10 years uses it every day. He has only serviced it twice! and both times I took the mick saying Ďyour shock it to death with that fresh oilí. So I thought there might be something good about owning a K.

So I brought one, a k100rs with 40k on the clock. My first real ride on it was to the Dragon Rally in North Wales, it made it there and back, just. I learned that the bike was far from well, the previous owner hadnít fixed any of the problems, he somehow adjusted and retuned it so it ran ok-ish, with some ham fisted monkey bodging in the mix.

I have now just (after two years and a bit of riding) I have gone through everything, itís now running somewhere acceptable. Thanks to looking and getting advice from posts you guys have posted, so a big thanks!!! And thanks to Dai for the electricís advice and telling me about the forum.

At last yearís Dragon Rally sitting around the camp in the evening and drinking far too much, some bright spark came up with a great ideaÖÖ. Letís do the Elephant Rally itís the 60th anniversary next year! and after a bit more drink we all thought it as a good idea.

So Iím back in the shed strapping a sidecar to the K, itís almost done now and looking forward to being the test pilot then getting it ready for the 2k mile round trip to the Elephant Rally, and then a week later, to North Wales for the Dragon.
Iíll try and keep you all posted (if youíre interested) of our adventure so watch this space! ††

good to meet you all! †

OMG he's arrived. Just don't ask about the wasp's nest. At least he's in the right trade to keep a K100 running.

Seems like this could have the making of another nice week or so camping in 2016. Unfortunately a lot of my holidays next year are already committed but I should manage a week or so.

Road racing in northern Ireland takes you right up to Dai and Comberjohn.........and some fantastic roads.
