I see that James Sherlock have a very interesting range of low mileage bricks for sale. K100 and K1100, 8 and 16v.
Some with under 10k miles although the speedos are in the accursed  kilometers. Says that they've been imported and reregistered.
Was only looking, honest dear.  Shocked

There was one some time back with zero miles........

I predict a Kpox epidemic........

What's wrong with kilometers anyway?

I worried when I saw the thread first that we were not going to be graced with your presence for 19th March.........

CJ - James Sherlock seem to be dominating eBay with K's at the moment, but all for a ransom handsome price! Trouble is it seems to be bumping up everybody's price expectations and I haven't noticed the off-season bargains that usually appear during the winter months.

Good to know you are feeling the temptation, you just know you're missing them....

There was a nice looking red LT for sale on there yesterday (somewhere north of York), but it's gone today so I guess the £1000 by-it-now price was too irresistible to someone (I had to sit on my hands!).

"Imported"

Makes me wonder from where. There's a UK dealer of 'vintage/retro' bike who buys swaths of old bikes here in the States, puts them in containers and ships them back to Ol' Blighty (zat right?). Big bucks/pounds to be made, apparently.

If this is the case, please stop strip mining our beautiful country of these precious, dwindling resources. Things may turn sticky.  Noooooo! 314318

Settle petal.
If they were from the US of A they would be in good old, proper em pee aitch. Not poxy kilometres, whatever they are.
Not that long ago that you were still using mph in the Freestate, Olaf.

Would love a nice, low mileage 16v RS but every year the arthritis in my back gets worse and I know I would have problems getting one out of the shed, never mind riding one any distance.
I think I realised my limitations with the last K that I had, now stolen by Dai. :pirat:  It was going to take a lot of work and when my hands are playing up, it's difficult to even put a bit of insulating tape on wires.
The GS is a great bike and now farkled to the max. See pic.
Having the top box just behind my seat gives great support to my back on a long run and is at a much handier height. And, yes, I can get my leg over it as I've lost nearly two stone since last year. Sorry, no idea what that is in kilos!
Been playing about with the fuel injection and tried a Power Commander which did make a good improvement in torque and smoothness but now have moved on to a new idea. AF-XiED units made in the the States by a company called Nightrider.
They were developed by a guy on the Advrider forum from Boston and they manipulate the signals from the O2 sensors on the exhaust to enrich the fuel slightly and make it run like it should.
Hoping to get a run out tomorrow to try them out after fitting them.

Took this down at Carlingford Lough a couple of weeks ago. Looking from Omeath.

Looks like they might have come from Japan. Good low mileage examples are starting to creep up in price.

Keep going with what works for you CJ.

Ha wonder if its politically correct to say that our neigbours might also soon be a Freestate...?

I suppose I have a foot in both camps, like many of us here, since my grandfather grew up only a stones throw from you.......But you kept a lot of the nice bits up in the Mournes and Antrim.....

Let me know if you are down this way during the year too, missed you the last time.

When you see what's happening across the water I'm not sure it wouldn't be a bad thing.
Not happen in our lifetimes when you see the way they get on here though. My Irish Photo Rally badge on my top box is green, white and gold for this year!
May need to keep the head down in some parts!
Doing the rally again this year so will be down plenty.
