I rescued my 1993 38,000 mile K1100lt almost a year ago after it had stood unused since 1998. It didn't take that long to get going again, now it runs and rides very well indeed.
Fuel consumption has never been that important to me but it's always useful to know how far you bike will travel on a full tank. I have newer bikes (R1200RS, R1200R) and they seem good on fuel. My R100R is on the other hand not so good on fuel, just OK.
After a long, as usual British winter, I broke my K11 out last weekend and thought I'd check the first tank of fuel through the bike. I covered 172 miles on 3.52 imperial gallons or 16.01 litres of petrol which equates to 48.8636364 MPG! I'm really happy with that kind of return, The LT's are a big heavy bike pushing a barn door forward with my wife and myself on board. That was mixed riding around town and through the Derbyshire countryside, not hanging about and definitely not trying for good mileage.

How do the rest of you K riders get on with fuel consumption?

Hey Mike!

That's not bad at all for a K 1100
That is in our measuring way =5,78l / 100km
I get 4.7 l / 100km with my K75, if I'm cruising, max. 120kmh

Besides I've seen you on the German FlyingB Forum,
what a small world :-)

Cheers

Last tank gave me 12.2 m/l (19.95 km/l) i.e. 55.48mpg(UK). My average seems to be just over 12 m/l. To put that in context, my daily commute is 25 miles each way across mostly narrow roads which discourages giving it a handful. Only approx four miles is on national speed limit main roads.
