This is for the old geezers enjoying the 1970's era bikes.
Check these 2 links of the races on the Nogaro track in France:

Solo Bikes

Sidecars (or kneelers)

Please don't drool on your keyboard

How many white(or grey) mustaches can you count?

Some nice machinery in there...I fancy one or two of the sidecars for a blast around a track!

Pic 28... an FT500 in an RS250 frame, by the look of it. Different front end though. Waybackwhen that combination was the ultimate 'street sleeper'; all it took to fit the FT motor was to grind back a weld in the RS frame and deepen the V between the two motor top mounts. Otherwise the engine was a drop fit. Leave the RS250 sidepanel badges on and go hunting the Japanese big boys... oh the fun. Happy memories. We'll just ignore the other memory of the frame tying itself in knots and the braking being somewhat less than marginal with all that extra power.

In the sidecar pictures, do I see lots and lots of Moto Guzzis? Did they adapt the rig to get a lower center of gravity than other engines?

I think it's just a question of choice about performance/torque and character.
