I sometimes look through the web site of a local insurance recovery dealer, who happens to offer damaged motorcycles.  Today, I came across a 2014 K1600GTL in their inventory which had been in an accident and declared irreparable. Irreparable in Ontario means the motorcycle can never again be licensed for road use; it's a parts bike now. The ad includes photos of the bike, including one of the dash.  This particular bike had something to say about its previous owner:

I thought those 1600s came with the new BMW WCS technology.

That's only on the AE [American Express] model.

Took a 1600GTL thing for a ride today at a ride day....and that thing was way comfy and was the torqueist bike I ever rode...and the stereo was good enough for 110kmh with a new helmet on....6 cylinder 1600 is smooth and takes up some area when mobile..lots of fun.

And then jumped onto a "nineT" cafe racer...the exact opposite of the above...yet also still fun.

Mr Klompy , the devil has taken ye for a ride and poisoned your mind .

Damn the rain .... gotta take this thing for a blast .

 the sun finally came out just as we were packing up . A motion from the owner , Clint Davis , for us to go for a ride , un-escorted . 
Well there was no asking twice for these two devils .

We headed off with Mr K taking the NineT for a short burst through town , I casually cruised to the outskirts on the 1600 GTL , 6 zylinder Barn buster. 
Once over the Stockton bridge and nearing the 100kmh limits , Mr K thought it best to exchange our steeds. Sure why not .
If you have ever ridden a cafe at high speed , you will realise that they are purely for town limits only, as they were originally designed for, cafe to cafe spurts only.
instantly you noticed the cloud you had just been sitting on suddenly disappeared and solid ground was now beneath you , rock solid that is .
We continued on our way navigating the windy side roads , getting up to around 90/100kmh in spots .

We made it out to the RAAF base at Williamtown which is the turn around point for the test day , I pulled up to offer the cafe back to Klompy , each request to him , came with the response " what ...... can't here you " , after several attempts , I decided to move on . The road home was 110 kmh down pit straight, my jacket fully unzipped , as it was a winter touring style, my helmet endeavouring to lift my head from its mountings, damn , no fairing on these things , what a shame.
Finally back at town limits and Klompy pulls over to suggest we best return to the shop on the steeds we left on. yeah sure why not . 
An excellent way to finish our charity work for the day .

Both bikes as Klompy suggested had good merits , in the right environments they were a pleasure to ride.
