The world is so small

Good fun  -pity the café was so noisy Chocolate.

We had better weather after that and enjoyed the run west, stopping for refreshments in Portumna before Reg departed for Home and the K1's headed south. The rest of us returned to tullamore at a more "brisk" pace and were there in an hour including a pit stop for fuel.

I enjoyed the day and meeting Rob and his sinister looking black RS16v -  hopefully he'll join us for the next one.

I spotted a very nice k100 with polished aluminium tank and Watsonian sidecar in Tullamore on the way home but he was moving in the opposite dissection so we didn't get to chat.

Looking forward to the next (on a comfort seat) -feeling the 445kms on the the RS hard saddle today!

Then we went to our B&B where my K1 decided not to re-start.
We had some food and a few drinks (toasting Chocolate of course).

Up early to try and get my k1 to start but no luck.

Thank goodness for breakdown insurance.



When I got the k1 home I fitted a spare tank suspecting the fuel pump, we had already  eliminated the side stand switch and fuses.

Still nothing - I then tried a replacement Motronic :-) success.

Tried the old one and she started again !

So even though I had disconnected the Motronic cable at the b&b I had not completely removed it.

I think a good case of Deoxit is required.

All's well that ends well and a good weekend was had even with this minor inconvenience.

That was a bit annoying Simon but glad you got it sorted, all in a weekends touring on old bikes eh?. 

The 3 K1's are a credit to their owners leaving the rest of us feeling a tad under polished   !

Still as you say....good to have the recovery available and thankfully you got it sorted.

What do you think? See where your distant relative lived and maybe have a few in the South Pole Inn. Obviously an overnight stay somewhere I the area.

An overnight would be needed and I know just the man with local knowledge to see if we could get a group rate on accomodation in Dingle/Daingean (lets not get into that row   ! )

I am planning an anti clockwise trip round Ireland next week (hoping to take in a lot of the photo rally locations). I will be staying in Kilkee on Friday 9th and should be at the South Pole Inn in Annascaul for an early lunch on Saturday 10th.

Anyone interested in meeting up for lunch ?

Saturday 10th sounds good!!! always like a nice lunch. Yesterday was Sunday lunch at at Hook Head Lighthouse.

Not going to the South Pole on Saturday .The weather has been bad today so heading for home in the morning . Maybe in October.

Just as well I checked in. Was bad yesterday coming back from Tullamore and today seems to have been wild judging by the damage when I got home.
