I have one, it took my enormous frame easily, but boy are they low. My dicky knees had trouble getting up. Very light to pack.
(Disclaimer: I don't work for Aldi, but have been banned from shopping there until I can prove that all of those little tools sitting in my shed with workzone brands on them, are actually going to get used. Hurumph).

picked one up this morning , thanks Nigel.
popped in to the local camping store on the way home and found the Oz trail version , $40 and made of steel tube . holds the same weight .
Helinox were the original ones in alloy , but were selling for around $60 .
So the Aldi ones are a good buy at the moment .

I'm the satisfied owner of a couple of those knock-offs.  Nice chairs for motorcycle camping, for sure.  And yes, they are low!  I've found my ancient and creaky knees are happiest when it's time to rise from the chair if I simply roll forward and then stand upright.  If I attempt to rise from the chair vertically, I'm as likely as not to collapse down into the chair again.... practice getting up from one of these before you enjoy too many beverages  Smile

Sidecar Paul did this to his .
Maybe adding some tubing into the legs like this one may aid the lowering process .
( " Quote Paul ") I've had a Helinox 'Chair One' for a couple of years, but this year I found a Chinese version with extending legs (£30), making it a couple of inches higher.

As it's identical to the Helinox apart from the legs and bottom lug, I've combined the two to make what looks like a genuine Helinox with extending legs.

Of course, being me, I've added some support bars to compensate for the extra load on the bottom lugs imposed by having longer legs: made in titanium.

Paul.

Or your bog standard folding chair is available at Mitre 10 for a measly 10 pacific pesos.   BCF et al, will hit you up 30 bucks. Same one as we used in France last year.

Buy two

Bunnings have the bog standard ones for about 8 bucks but htey are too long and bulky. This compact one is pretty low but I don't find it too bad. I may change my mind after a few coldies. I'll have to practise that forward roll Laughing

Aldi also had the waterproof duffle bags today. The larger 50lit bag has the opening along the side but it's a bit too big so I went for the 44 lit bag.
