To make your search easier you can use the mirror from the following bikes also.

Part 46631455000 was found on the following vehicles:

Left and right side are the same as far as the glass goes.

The number might say that, but it's very wrong.

Only K100RS/1100RS mirror glasses will fit an RS mirror body.

The RT/LT mirrors are the same shaped glass but the plastic fitting the glass is stuck to is different and will not attach into an RS mirror body. If you do find a good RT glass, you could remove the plastic base and stick the mirror to the RS base that would then clip into the RS Mirror body.

K75/K75s are round mirrors on stalks that bolt to the handlebars, nothing like an RS

Left and Right RS mirror glasses are identical.

I had a similar situation with a car when the aluminium arm and glass in the electric/heated mirror got broken. Dealer wanted huge money. Went to a breakers and got one for very small money. Took the thing apart and was able to separate the glass with some carefully applied heat and reassemble to make one good one. Even better was able to do it without opening up the car door to detach wiring.

A tip too. If you are mounting a new glass DO NOT use a lubricant of any kind to make it easier to pop the ball home. The mirror glass will simply keep moving out of focus when you ride as it wont resist bumps. It relies on the friction between the ball and socket to stay in position.

Be aware that there are two versions of the RS mirror glass or mirror pod.  I am not absolutely sure what the differences are, but if they are not matched, you will be driving down the road and suddenly see your mirror glass fall out of the pod.

Please, don't ask me how I know.

Is it possible that there is a newer version of the mirror that will replace the mirrors on the RS, RT, and LT models?  After doing some research I have found 3 different part numbers for the mirrors.  I found a part number that appears to be only for the RS, a part number that appears to be only for the RT/Lt's, and a part number that indicates it is for all of the above.

Any listing that suggests there is a common mirror is wrong there never has been. The LT/RT have been the same mirror from the very first RT right through to the last K1100LT.  AFAIK the RS mirror has been the same or substantially the same and interchangeably right through the range of RS . The only difference is that an extension block was used on the 4V RS to put the mirror further out to avoid looking at your elbows.

The glass itself is the same between RS and RT/LT, but only the glass, not the plastic backing that the glass is bonded to that clips into the mirror body, they are different between RS and RT/LT.  Never seen anyone that sells just the glass though.  What you buy from the dealer includes the plastic stick on backing.

One type fits on to a ball swivel with a guide above and below the ball to locate the mirror ans stop it spinning, the other type has a ball swivel and guides left and right of the ball to stop it being able to spin.  Not compatible with each other.

I spent some time this evening looking at a pair of mirrors, one from and RS and the other an RT/LT mirror.

I am very tempted to see if it is possible to install the ball mount from the RT/LT mirrot into the RS morror.  That would allow me to use those mirrors in the RS housing.  The RT/LT mirror glass is still available, and the used market has a greater supply of those mirrors than the RS models with somewhat lower prices as well.  I bought the one I was looking at for $10 and it included the glass.

Looks like something I will have to put on the to do list.

Many years back I broke a mirror glass on a car. A local glass guy cut me a new one from a template I made from the surviving mirror. Unstuck the plastic bits off the old one and stuck to the new one. Job done. If needed use the opposite one to check set out points.

If the glass on RS/LT/RT is same worth looking at how this works. If you already have a broken mirror then nothing to lose. Halfords have spare glasses for cars and I believe will get you one to a template too.

Hi Larry, you and me both.  Shane at Shail's can get them in about a week for about $105CAD.  I'm trying to avoid that kind of bill....

I have a 91 K100 RS 16V and it does seem there are slightly different types of  mirror glass or maybe mirror pods.  I had to buy two new glasses and one fits fine and I can put the little safety clip in at the back behind the indicator lens.  On the other I cannot get it to fit no matter what.  In the end I gave up and used fishing line to tether the glass to the mirror pod so when it falls out - which it does -  at least I do not lose or break it. I also use tethers on the pods themselves so every now and then I get a double whammy and have both the pod and the glass fall out at the same time! Ah the joys of Costa Rican roads.

16v and 8v mirrors are the same as are the pods. The only difference is that there is a spacer between the mirror pod and the fairing on the 16v.
The mirrors just push into the ball mounting in the middle of the pod, no need to take the indicator lens out. To remove the mirror just remove the whole pod and smack it, mirror side down, onto a carpeted floor and the mirror glass will pop out of the pod.
