Thanks Hollister, yep it would be a big day in the saddle - I just get a bit excited as it's been a while since I've been for a good ride.

Warren, I'm in Camden. If you're in the inner west we could meet on the M4 somewhere if we're heading to Bathurst.  That would be Thursday if we're meeting the northerners for lunch so we'll need to arrange accommodation for Thursday night.

Cheers,
Elliot

Please don't be put off if you are thinking of coming but haven't posted yet. I'm sure we can arrange space easily, and even if you turn up unannounced, you will still experience a friendly welcome.
However, I'd appreciate it if you do post, even if it's as a possible attendee rather than a definite commitment.

If you want to join the scenic route Krew, please contact Herr Tourenführer (Rickmeister) to let the group know when and where to expect you to join them.

I had a great time last year, the ride and especially the Kameraderie, so it's a recommended gathering for my money.

Speaking of money, on arrival, please announce yourself at the office as part of the Bill Irvine/K100 forum party but give me your $30 (2 nights) and I'll square up with the office. That should be break-even, but if there's a small shortfall, I'll deal with it. If there's a surplus, it'll go to a suitable charity.

Warren. The rendezvous with the Hunter Krew in Bathurst is on the Thursday, staying the night in Boorowa. If you're up for that I'll look at changing my plans and head out with you and Nods and do my southern ride the week after. For me this depends on a couple of things. I need to know asap because I need to book accommodation down south for the week after, and for the stay in Boorowa I need to find a cheap bed for the night. Yeah, I know. I'm a cheapskate but I get about and I spend a bit on accommodation and I just need to keep it under control.

If anyone else is interested, I've found a really good BnB in Boorowa just one block off the main which will sleep 5 singles for $181/night. It has 1 queen, 1 double, 2 singles and a sofa bed. 5 people will cost $36/night each or 4 will cost $45/night each. If there are 3 or 4 others interested in this accommodation, I'll book it. If Warren and Nods are up for this we just need 1 or 2 others. See pics below.

Rickmeister. What's the pub cost each for the night?

Bill. What are the cabins costing at Jindy. I'm not going soft, I just don't want to have to carry camping gear with me on this trip if I can help it. Laughing

Quite a variety of choices with cabins, Nigel. Easiest to follow this link.

If you want to go full "cheapskate" mode, I can put a spare tent and bits in the caravan for you to use when you get to Jindy. Very Happy

I have just now booked 4 x single and 2 x multi share rooms at the Boorowa Pub. The girl I spoke with indicated that it wasn't too busy and there shouldn't be any problems if more from the K bike fraternity decided to stay there.

Will be great to catch up again Packo, big effort for you to come across.

Bill, three friends of mine from the NSW BMWTC are coming along, Mike, Chuck and Graham. Mike will be in the Krew coming out of the Hunter, Chuck out of Sydney and Graham from the south coast.

Their favourite spot in Jindabyne is the Banjo Patterson hotel up the road from the park so they will grab a room there ( very attractive prices for shared rooms - I stayed there with them last November).

Cheers

Sorry to hear that Waz.

Bill. Thanks for the offer of tenting gear for the weekend but I'll be sharing a cabin with Smithy.

Richmeister/Tourenfuhrer Cool , do you have an eta and destination for lunch in Bathurst? WarrenC, Nods and myself will be riding up to Bathurst on the Thursday to rendezvous with the Hunter Krew.
FYI, Warren has booked a share room for the 3 of us at the hotel in Boorowa.

Warren and Nods. I'm easy either way but I do have a preference for the Bell's Line over the Great Western H'way to Lithgow. Only about an extra 15 to 20 mins for you Nods coming from Camden area to Richmond and on the Lithgow but the highway is more like a commute these days and Bell's is a nice ride. If that's ok with you, how about Warren and I meet you at Maccas in Richmond at 9am. Coffee at Bowenfels and on to Bathurst via Tarana. All up, a 3 hr trip. An afternoon sprint down to Boorowa will certainly top the day off. Warren, we can meetup at Lanecove. Easy to get onto the M2 from there. let me know how that sounds guys. Cheers

Plan at this stage....

Meet Smithy and others at Denman Pub, the one on the LHS corner, opposite the Shell servo at 08:30.

I will meet up with Gaz and Bro Tom and maybe others at the designated truck stop just before the end of the HEX at 07:00 - 07:15.

Riding via the Bylong Valley way, with an ETA at Bathurst at 12:00. The meeting location is opposite a park, near the main street. Will Google the location and advise a bit further down the track.

Off to the Bellarine Peninsular v.early Sunday a.m. for a week of golfing and beer drinking etc.

Cheers, Rickmeister.

Dear Participants...

As the Tourenfuhrer, this is what I propose for the upcoming jolly to Jindabyne (Ve vill be obeyed!!!)...

1. The Hunter krew will meet at the truck rest stop near the end of the HEX 07:00 - 07:15 on Thursday, 16th of this month.
2. Off to Denman to meet up with some Northerners at the Denman pub (Possibly refuel, as there is limited fuel available further down the track) by 08:30.
3. Off towards Sandy Hollow, left down the Goulburn Valley hwy, via Bylong. Stop at the general store at Bylong for Loffee and any other refreshments.
4. Off to Ryelstone, Kandos, Ifield, Sofala and thence to Bathurst.
5. Meet up with the others from Sydney, Robbo and elsewhere. Meeting place: IN RUSSELL STREET, BETWEEN WILLIAM AND GEORGE, OPPOSITE THE PARK, AT 12:00
6. Do lunch. Thence down to Cowra, Frogmore (or somewhere) to finish at Boorowa, the Irish Pub, for Guinness, food, more Guinness etc, and then retire for the evening.
7. Make our way to Tumut, Talbingo, Snowy Mountains Hwy, Berridale and Thence Jindabyne on the Friday. ETA J maybe 15:00 or so.

If there is any thing not clear, please let me know.

Cheers, Rickmeister.

Cheers
You're a man with a plan Holister, and a good one at that!   Very Happy

I'll see you and Warren at the Richmond maccas at 9am on the Thursday morning.  Can't wait!

Cheers,
Nods

Unfortunately I'm out. Just a bit too much on my plate at the moment. Was looking forward to the ride as I haven't been out much in recent months.

WarrenC and Nods, sorry guys. If you're out of pocket on the share accommodation, let me know, I'll pay my share. Hope you enjoy the trip over the mountains. Catch ya next time.

I look forward to reading the ride reports.
Cheers

All packed and ready to go. Just one problem, 200mil of rain. My trip up to Bathurst today is very much in doubt
and unless it is dry early tomorrow, I will have to meet you guys at Boorowa tomorrow night.
I know where to meet you so don't wait if I'm not there as you finish lunch.
Safe trip everybody.

That rain has been persistent, hopefully it clears for tomorrow.
This is the most unorganised I've been for any ride, I'm supposed to meet Rick in an hour for the ride down to Sandy hollow and I'm still checking and packing the bike scratch hope I don't forget the wetties .

A great few days away!
The weather behaved itself nicely for us, and the ride was great.

Thanks, everyone, for the Kameraderie. Great to have new members wicky and nods along to put faces to names.

G'day all, another successful trundle around the mountains without any white knuckle moments. Snowy Mountains 2017 - Page 2 3366357163 Many thanks to Bill for the organisation and Rickmeister for working out the long way around. Fantastic to meet up with RT,nods (who turned up on a very nice Triumph thingie) Packo, waz and wicky. Always good to match a name to a face. Best of all was meeting Bill and Lynette's latest granddaughter.
Arrived home with Smithy about 4.30pm after a boring run up the highway. All in all about 1800km covered without incident and very little rain.
Thank you all for the company. Cheers Tom

Thanks Bill for getting us organised and into some kind of Kollection at the same remote loKation.

Great to meet you all and check out the mighty K's.  Turns out it was a good weekend to head south and escape the downpour.

Bill I'm confused - is it supposed to be "Khancoban" or "Chancoban"?  Laughing

Definitely Khancoban. Been that way since before the advent of the Mighty K.   Very Happy  Must have been part of the prophecy of the future.

Definitely a remote loKation, especially for those from the Deep North of NSW, Queensland and South Oz. Can't be my personal charm, so it must be the Kollective charm of the Krew. Pleasantly amazed that people will travel that far for a get-together.  Beer drinker

Back home again safe & sound about 4:15pm after travelling back from RT's place in kcompany with Rickmeister.

As stated above by others, thanks to Rickmeister and Bill for the arrangements of the long cut down to Jindy and the weekend activities while there. Good catch up with all, new faces and old (I mean those I've met before although some of us could be described that way).

Special thanks to Mr & Mrs RT for their hospitality overnight last night at a very wet Robertson.

Look forward to the next one.

Cheers

Thanks to Bill for organising another great get together and ride weekend, also that long cut  was fantastic Rickmeister.

For me, the weekend started on Wednesday meeting Rick g for the first leg to Sandy Hollow pub for the night so we could meet up with the Hunter Krew early Thursday morning.

Leaving Sandy Hollow on Thursday morning after meeting up with more of the Krew it was Rickmeister our tour master leading the way in misty rain conditions. The long cut took us via the Bylong valley through Rylstone, Sofala, and on to Bathurst for lunch and to meet up with more of the krew coming out from Sydney.

Then it was on to Boorowa via Cowra, this was the second time for me at the top pub in Boorowa and it didn’t disappoint, a great night had drinking, playing pool and catching up with mates.

Leaving the Boorowa pub on Friday was the last leg of the long cut to Jindabyne via Harden, Gundagai, Tumut, Berridale then Jindabyne. The ride across the mountains from Tumut to Adaminaby doesn’t get much better, just terrific and we still had Saturday’s ride to come!

With most of the krew arriving in Jindabyne on Friday evening more drinks consumed with banter continuing late into the night.

Waking to a fine day Saturday apart from the low cloud on the mountains it was off to Cabramurra for coffee. Some of the Krew were feeling the cold but for me it felt just like home. Leaving Cabramurra it was on to Khancoban for lunch then around the alpine way back to Jindabyne to top off a great day ride.

Sunday morning all packed and good byes said, it was the boring trip home up the freeway for me. I rode back with Tom to Newcastle for the night before heading back to Guyra on Monday morning arriving home at around midday.

A total of 2600 km’s for me this trip and a great weekend had .

I have to say , as much as I enjoyed my brief but enjoyable ride down the Putty Rd to Grey Gum Cafe , The weekend was best had by the Krew riding south to Jindabyne . Well done everyone . Good to see all went well , considering the forecasts in the various regions . Cheers .
