Just be aware that with all that extra horsepower you are going to have to relube your steering head and swing arm bearings with snake oil grease to keep the handling up to the capability of the engine.

Personally, I would just tape a couple magnets to the fuel line to orient the carbon atoms in the gas. Less chance of overheating the coils with that extra current.

Better be sure it's top-quality snake-oil too; the cheap stuff just won't cut it.

There's a similar product advertised in the UK called the 'SplitFire'. When I used to contribute to the motorcycling press, I conned the importer out of a set 'for magazine testing'. He didn't expect me to dismantle it but that's what I did and I found exactly what I was expecting to find - nothing. Yes, nothing. All there was in the box were two metal needles with a 1mm (or thereabouts) gap between them. So many years later I forget the physics behind it (maybe Robmack or RickG can supply the info) but it was something along the lines of forcing the spark to jump a gap before reaching the plug gave the appearance of a stronger spark. In actual fact, the spark at the plug was weaker than a standard setup. I wasn't nice in the subsequent review; IIRC the editor toned it down.

I would much rather use a negative ion generator in the inlet manifold which will produce enough Horsepower to blow the lid off a cookie tin at 4 inches.

Now there's something I can get behind.

Now let me tell you about the Swarp! In the USA we had this gizmo in the 70's, it was a bent piece of anodized aluminum, you we supposed to put it into intake right after the carburetor. You got 83% more power, 56% better fuel economy and a better sex life too. So the advert said! Well, maybe not the last part at least.

In reality what you got was a reduction in just about everything. What did you think you were going to get?

Total farce, but it was one of those gadgets that were over advertised...people kept wanting them. Sad. Really sad.

Back in my Speedy Gonzalez days (Enduro riding, first on a Honda CR-125 then a Yamaha IT-400) if you had a plug foul you might be able to get the bike running by pulling the cap off the plug just a mm or so. Just maybe.

I never take a beer before taking the bike or car out now.

But many years back when I had a nice shiny Candy Gold Honda CB500-4 I met a friend one night in West Cork and then headed back to Cork. These are twisty roads. We had 3 pints down west as they say and after I got back a few told me I had by far the fastest Honda on the road.

Apparently the very inexpensive pint boost was extremely effective in producing more power, speed and crisper handling. Realising what could have ensued I never did that again. Not too long after I found it didn't work anyway when we did a Dublin to Cork run [168 miles] in under 2 hours with no motorway at all at that time.

Maintaining a decent average speed is whats important andBMWs in standard set up seem to bevery good at that.

Naaah,
Teflon, that's what you want! Coat the bike in Teflon inside and out and you will slip through the air. If a washed bike goes 10% faster, imagine how fast a teflon bike will go. There is no theoretical limit I'd say.

Just be sure to get a new giggle-pin installed. Very Happy

Just don't put the teflon on the brake discs or you will be close achieving a the perpetual motion machine.

And given various comments on a different post - might not be a good idea to put teflon on the exhaust either unless you have a street fighter and wish to embark on some street chemical warfare!! Although, over time, this might be a good idea as it will reduce the amount if traffic?

For maximum speed effect - simply paint the front of the bike blue and the back end red - that way you can use the doppler effect to make it look as if you are going faster. To the person in front of you, the blueshift makes it look like you are coming towards them faster and to the person behind you, the red shift looks like you are going away from them faster. Simples!!
