My new Zorst arrived yesterday cheers I placed an order for a Harris Pipe hand crafted Zorst in December.
Harris pipes can be found here. I'm very happy with the quality of the build, and service from Graeme Stephens at Motorcycle Exhaust New Zealand.
Here is some pics.

How much and how noisy, sorry, quiet is it? We all know that bikes are not allowed to have noisy pipes.

It has an adjustable butterfly, adjustment on top of silencer with locknut, so it can be as quiet or as loud as you require and is fully tuneable to the engine.
I have the butterfly open about one quarter of it's movement, I tuned it to that at about 4000 rpm and it gives it good deep note, not too loud.
How much, well cheaper and better than a Remus system.

congratulations

It's been storms here today, so hopefully I'll get a good ride in tomorrow.
I guess it will give better performance, but I really wanted a more stylish system with a deeper sound.

Looks very stylish. I like it.
No one is ever going to get any huge performance increase from changing just an exhaust system, German motorbikes magazines proved that with tests in the 1980's. The rider will think that it is faster due to the change in noise.
I have taken the cans, with cats, off my Ducati 848 and put some nice straight through pipes on it, it is very loud now, but I doubt that there is any real performance increase. It could accelerate popping wheelies before and it still can. The top speed might be higher, but I have never managed to get there before as the turbulence around my helmet gives me tunnel vision at 245kmh, so I have never been further. It might be lighter too, but the bike is only 160 ish kilo and I can't notice the difference.
Change the exhaust for something that looks and sounds nice as the OP has done. If you want more performance then put a 16v engine into the bike for 10% more power.

Mine is the earlier hen's teeth one. a new old stock one came up on eBay last week at a good price but went sold as I trying to buy it.

I got new screws and nuts here for one.

Would I need to repaint?

I still owe you for a clock too.

Nice looking system Smithy. I like the butterfly valve idea! If it sounds better than the Remus it must be pretty sweet!

changing the exhaust can make a big performance difference ,one of my other bikes is a piaggio mp3 250 . not long ago put a aftermarket exhaust on it and what a difference , slower acceleration at start than faster acceleration after 3000 rpm with a higher top speed ,this without any extra tune ups , now on the larger super bikes would you notice any differencs for the average rider (not racing ) .. don't know.. but like the idea of the butterfly valve .you can make a easy difference to the sound for each occation , be intresting to see how it alters the tune .. by the way your new pipe looks good as well

That looks great, and sound nice too. Great looking seat too. Brings the whole package up and makes it sizzle. I was going to ask about that nut on top but you've explained it, what a great idea a variable baffle.
Very Zorsterific.

Smitty, can you report on how the Zorst is going so far? The Motad on my red OZ RS is beginning to fatigue and I reckon this Harris bit looks the goods.

True to that. I live two miles from a large H-D dealership, and the bedroom end of my house is about 100 metres from a local thoroughfare that riders travel to get to rides the dealership organises on Summery mornings. Forget sleeping in of a Sunday morning. The thunder of fifty Hardlies rolling side-by-side, accompanied by 300 personal watts of Charlie Daniels, Kid Rock or some twangy country warbler at seven AM must be what freedom sounds like.

Your right we definitely need an update.

12 months ago I  bought and fitted the Zorst and in the past 12 months it has been back to New Zealand twice for modifications ( I’ve been happy to send it back on both occasions because I just wanted to get it right) No charge to me, very happy with the service.

The Zorst bolts up to your header pipes and the original exhaust hanger as per original system,  and also has the support on the collector for the rubber mount needed for the centre and side stand.

Version #1, was a one piece unit ( collector and can welded together as one unit ) that after a few thousand klms  started to show signs of stress fractures at the end of the can.  This was sent back and modified with a new gusset, this lasted a good while before the same thing started to happen!

So back it went again.

This latest version is a two piece slip in concealed spring design. I’m very happy with this design as it will take away any stress that the rigid design had. I can’t thank Graeme at Harris Pipes enough for all he’s efforts  in getting this K system sorted, still early days with this latest version but I think he has nailed it on the head this time.

I do love the sound it gives the K, I’ll try and post a video of the bike being ridden.

sounds good from behind craig

and with your setting , whilst riding , not too loud at all (coming back from Kaputar run at least )

I think you've done a great co-operative job with the kiwi guys
lets hope they get some more sales to make it all worth while

and the finish looks great
