The K1 has a nice logo on the side of the bike.
As I am repainting the K100-EML, I am now thinking of doing something similar for it.
The problem is that nobody has ever designed or posted a logo like this on the Internet.
I took a picture of the Chrome K100 logo from the back of the cowl and started to work on it.
This should look good if painted across the hood of the chair.

Looks good. If you got the black done on a cutting machine then stick it on and clear coat over it.

How come you're doing a K100 for the K100-EML to stick on the EML's hood?
Surely it would be K100-EML that would go on the hood????? Its a combo so don't it fit?

Guess what I was working on?
1st I just found a way to create it on Autocad and export it on Photoshop in very high resolution (No jagged line, smooth curves) and I was also creating a font for the word EML to match the K100 logo.

Here is what I have (low resolution for upload). I may rework the K and 1 to make them a bit "thicker":

Close the gaps between E-M-L. They're too wide compared to the gaps 1-0-0. The gaps either side of the dash? Well... they look okay but you could try closing those up as well?

I am working on it now, and the placement/displacement will be easy.

Here are 2 versions depending if I put it on the side of the car or on the hood.
I didn't think that it would take me so long, but now I have a very high resolution image. Very Happy
These 2 samples had been downgraded in order to upload the picture.
I will put the simple K100 logo in High Res on the download page.

Yes that's the go. I love the late 70's into 80's style found on all those cars and bike back then.
I think it will do the trick.

The K100 logo design (the one on the cowl) has been uploaded to the "download page" in 2 formats (JPG Format and PNG Format) in high resolution (3300 x 800 - 1200 Pixels/Inch)

And here is exactly why I designed the K100 logo.
I just repainted the bike on Photoshop, but it gives me a very good idea of what will be the result. Painting should start this week.

After sifting to 100's of paint chips colors, I found a close match to what I want.
From all the car manufacturers, who has the color closer to my design? ......
BMW
Check out the San Marino Blue from BMW..

Here is a quick preview. The bike has been painted yesterday and needs a lot of elbow grease and polishing compound before putting everything together. I don't expect to ride it for another month..... A snow storm is expected for tonight Embarassed.
It took almost one week to make the paint booth and the color is a bit different due to LED and neon lighting.
The BMW k100 and EML logos should be done by the end of the week.

Looking really good Bert - I like your spray booth, I used a pop up tent (limited on space), but it does make a big difference. Doesn't look like you need much extra polish and elbow grease at all!

Just got a snap shot of the weather coming your way - hunker down, lets hope it blows thorough quickly. Be safe all you guys on the eastern seaboard USA and Eastern Canada and Nova Scotia. Positively spring like over here today!

Thanks Paul. This was a 2 1/2 month job, and we should dedicate the result to the Irish and Scottish people. I think we spend as much time sampling single malt/Irish Whisky and laughing as we did working. But.... we did it. This is what a retiree's life is about: Just have a lot of fun!
About polishing, 1,500 grit wet sanding will make a difference. (I will be crying when I will put the first scratch on the paint...)
As I type, I can see the first flurries flying in front of the window. Tomorrow will be shoveling again, but this is nothing in comparison of the year that you came to visit in Nova Scotia.

Just for information:
a nor'easter is when few intense weather systems are "meeting". Wind from the North, West and south are in equal power and the 3 storms are pushing against each others and cannot move away.
Usually, storms from the South and West will bring moisture and the one for the north will bring intense cold which will result of blizzard.
The storms will hoover over us until all the moisture(snow) is dumped on our roads and motorcycles.
This time, the one from the south will be the winner and in the morning it will turn to rain with 100 kms/h winds. Our igloos may be melting and we will be homeless. Very Happy

lol!Now that's the way to work on a bike! I did mine sober and in semi darkness and now that lighter mornings/evenings are coming I can see the bits I missed or that didn't get even coverage (very annoying!)

Hope the snow has become rain as you expected and melted away...that was some serious snow you had just before my visit back in Apr 15, but good to see.

Yes it did turn to rain and today all the roads are clear. This is not the same situation on our neighbors west of us. Over a foot of snow in Quebec and a lot of highway pile up cars...
Today I got my design for the sidecar and they look terrific. I finally opted for a silver colour rather than white.
I will post pictures when they are installed. I asked about individual prices and will post it later for people interested with it (Just wait to see the pics). The cost was very affordable.

I was working on different types of logos and made these 2:

I will just install the simple K100 RT on the side panel and nothing on the bags or fairing. Here is the picture that I used to test the design (not my bike). It could give ideas for others.
Logos are CNC cut and only the trace covers the paint. They are not transparent stickers.
