Hi

I have a K100 which I'm converting into a cafe racer. I want the bike to be as lean as possible and the air box on top of the throttle body and air mass sensor box are huge. The k1200 has nothing but air filter directly on top of the throttle body so I was thinking if I could use the K1200 ECU instead of the K100 and avoid using the air mass sensor and all the plastic boxes on the engine. It is possible doing something like that?.

Has anybody make a conversion of this type?.  I'm using a m-unit motogadget so I will remove the relay box already to simplify the electrical system.

Thank you in advance.

I've done that in the past with an 8 valve K and used 1000cc 16 valve fuel/ignition wiring harness, ECU etc. The non Cat/Lambda items are simpler if you can find one.
The fueling isn't great though but mine did run OK-maybe the Lambda sensor could help here?
It was a track bike exercise so only needed to run well flat out which it did but really needed to be adjusted which proved difficult. It's very old tech and no-one has the equipment to adjust the chip over here in the UK.

Good luck.

Thank you for your answers.

I also read I can use mega squirt micro for $390 as ECU. I was wondering if I can get on ebay K1100 ECU and use it instead of the orignal, kind of plug an play minor some tweak with maybe a MAP sensor and little bit more. I really hate the air mass box and plastic box on the throttle body, way too big and I have the engine done and on a perfect moment to either go with the plastic boxes or get rid of them.
