What do you blokes think is a fair price for a stock 1985 K100RT seat in excellent nick save for one tiny rip about 5mm long?

To be quite honest there is not a big call for the bench seat, most prefer the comfort seat. However for a good condition one I would want around $50 but it could be some time before a buyer comes along.

+1 on the bench seat not being that desirable.  Add to that the fact that it is not interchangeable on newer bikes and you have an item that will take patience to sell.

I would probably list it here and a few other BMW enthusiast forums.  Possibly put it up for auction with a $50 starting bid.  I have seen a fair number of those seats on eBay mostly offered by breakers who are asking top dollar.  At $50 yours will be very attractive.  Because of the high shipping cost unless/even if you make a custom box it's hard to get a lot for seats.

Could be attractive on the part of the world with wet climate, salt on the roads
and year around brickers......where those early sheet metal base plate often
have turned into brown dust.

Yes, and the beauty of mine is it has zero rust since I live in the desert.

I may be interested in that seat if shipping isn't too high. Could you check shipping costs to Washington State, zip 98844?

Thanks
