I came across these today......brand new injectors for £27.50 each. They come with the seals on.

I now have an email confirming my order for 4 of them has been despatched.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/371973165962?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

I have a nice new injector rail for them on my shelf.

I will post up comments after they are fitted, probably next weekend.

Ok so I will have these during next week and figure fitting them some evening.

I have a nice injector rail ready to go in, my fuel hoses are renewed since I got the K and in good order, have a spare set of seals bought in anticipation of getting the ones in the bike cleaned. Have spare clips too so I don't see much to go wrong.

Not done injectors before but doesn't look difficult.

This is what I think I am looking at....

Bottom left fairing panel off as always
Clean off the top of the engine to avoid dirt getting in...
Off with fuel hoses [tank off for me, prefer no fuel around]
Disconnect injector plugs.
Unbolt injector rail [WD40 on the 2 bolts today and during the week].

New injector rail and injectors already set in the rail?
Line it up and bolt it on, let the bolting up push the injectors into the head or push it all in first?.
Reconnect wiring plugs.
Refit tank and reconnect hoses.
Check all is running ok.
Refit fairing lower panel.

Am I missing anything? I do have Clymers and read it but nothing like checking out in the real world where we have 30 year old bikes rather than a manual made up working on a more or less brand new bike.

Experience says clip the injectors into the rail first. It makes life a lot easier. I also smeared some silicon grease (brake grease - now there's an oxymoron!) around the seals which helped a lot.

Thanks for that. I had the idea on the injectors in the rail first but the brake grease tip is good for me. I do have a bad running problem and know that at least of the injectors [no 4] is leaking and looking to be the culprit so this is needed anyway.

Funny how your name came up on this.

Right now am making Christmas puddings.....! Yep they mature nicely and this is the first lot for this year. They are to be ready for a 'courier' delivery at the end of June.

Will make yours a bit later.......

Will we see you around 2 July for Bills visit?

Bony buy brake grease if you have s can of silicone spray around that'll do it nicely.

Injectors produced a noticeable improvement in smoothness and pick up.
Replaced temperature sensor with a brand new one last weekend and now very much better.
While in there checked out air filter as I had the air box off and so on and all looks good.

But one problem remains. I still have a high fuel consumption as in about 50% excess and a diesel knock to go with it.

Where to next? K is 84 one with the fuel pressure sensor on the back of the throttle bodies rail.

Hey Olaf!

Have you Synchronize synced the bike?
When was the last time you checked the Valves?
Could there be a Temp sensor damage?
Choke hanging?

Have luck
Cheers

How long has that been going on, Olaf? Maybe you should check compression down the line when you're finished with setting the clearances. The knock is unsettling.

It is but definitely sounds diesel like. Been through a lot of engines and its exactly the same as the car sounded with a bad injector. Plus my fuelling is not right [I did also swap ICU FICU too as I had spares].

I think valve clearance look see next weekend.

Inge I haven't checked fuel pressure. But its on my mind as a possible cause. Temperature sensor definitely wasn't right so I am happy to have replaced it and the difference is noticeable.

My K has the early fuel pressure sensor on the back of the throttle bodies, debating on the sensor [have a spare] or the fuel pressure regulator as its definitely getting too much fuel which sort of leads me to think its not valve clearances. Cleaning up with new injectors, fuel sensor, balancing throttle bodies made a huge difference to smooth running.
