Hello I'm know as Step. I have a K100RS 16V which I bought in 1985 before I moth balled it after my son was 4. He is now 21. I am looking to restore it but it had been moved around a lot and needs a lot of work. I'm hoping this forum will assist me when I get stuck. Really keen to get back to riding since my children have grown up and bought cars.

Welcome along Step - quite some break in your riding history there, but not particularly unusual. The old bike will need a little attention and then she'll be good as new and you'll be wondering why it took you so long to get back in the saddle.

Really nice krew in your neighbourhood - with masses of experience to share with a little healthy banter thrown in for good measure - and a few more of us elsewhere around the world ready to try and help where we can.

Enjoy and good luck with the project.

A few of us in the same position, kids grown etc etc etc.

It wont be a 1985 anyway, or even a 1995. 16V had quite a short lifespan in the K100RS, came out I think 89and it quickly became a K1100.

You are in the right place and great to hear you have had it for so long. Main issues will be old and perished or hard tyres, rubbers and seals and things like goo in the petrol tank.
