Change of tac.

Going to acquire a post 85 tail section (which I reckon looks better) and then attach the seat foam from my pre 85 seat to a post 85 plastic seat pan I have, then recover it.

All this while watching the Scientology episode of South Park. Happy Days. lol!

Anyone got a part number for what goes in the red circles? The one at the top right obviously takes the rear hinge part, but Im thinking all three holes take rubber bungs of some sort. The parts fiche im looking at is unclear.

the one at top right is the rear hinge mounting point , but needs a bung in there as well if you don't want to wear the metal parts

yes the other two need a blind bung about 5mm thick x 12 mm ?

standard " 6 mm cage nuts " as used in rack equipment are used for most of the fixings to the seat ..and many other frame places

Mission accomplished...Old seat foam modified ans fitted to a post 1985 plastic seat pan. New foam, vinyl, stainless bolts and captive nuts, rubber bumpers.

Went with pop rivets and made some spreader plates out of HDPE garden irrigation pipe.

Looks good Floyd, I have the same problem with the motoco seat, and the gunfighter seat, might not look right on your machine but I made a lambs wool cover to fit, hides any gaps

Floyd I've never had a good look at the early seat mount set up on the Brick. Does yours have the plate with the mounting bolt? If so would it be possible to pack the front mounts out and slot or redrill the rear mounting plate? This might move your tank back enough to fix or partially fix your problem. You also might be able to crib the ducktail and seat mounts forward.
Regards Martin.

After a good clean up with my new 18v drill and some brass brushes, and a can of 'rust converter' paint. Now for it to be reunited with its original foam (plus some new) and a new coat of marine vinyl.. Ah the joys of doing the same job twice - same same but different.

Id fix the rust holes if I had a welder, but they will not be a problem...All the nuts are fine too, which is a bonus.

Not to hijack this thread, but where did you get those turn signals? With the discontinuance of glass and turn lenses for the RS, there are many who would be interested in how you made them work on your bike.
