Another new member from Michigan... I have had an '88 K100RS for a few years now. finally feeling well enough after bypass surgery a couple years ago to start hitting the road again! Looked at the forum in search of tire information..... they seem to dry rot when sitting around!

Good to hear you're better!! I'm in Upstate NY so I know what you're weather can be like (I think yours is worse) so get out there as soon as you can before the bad weather hits. And yes if they sit for an extended period of time dry rot sets in. Don't put off getting it replaced.

Happy riding,
Bucky

Hello and welcome to the forums! I lived in Michigan once upon a time, Birmingham Farms, corner of Telegraph Road and Maple. Lived through the nearby craziness in the summers of '65 and '67 - wild, wild times!

Tires - I recently bought my first K and it came with Pirelli 'Angels' - and they are sweet! Just sayin'...

Wishing you many happy and satisfying years of safe riding! ;BMW;

Ace

Welcome along.
Loads of information/advice/conflict about tyres on the forum...enter the word into the search box and be prepared to be overwhelmed.

K bikes as a whole don't like sitting - the rubber bits, including tyres, probably suffer most (including the rubber bits inside the fuel tank).

Good luck with getting yourself and your RS back onto the road...should be just enough time during Fall to get some good rides in before the ice and snow come along and force you back into your shed/garage to fix all those bits that you feel need fixing in time for Spring

Welcome. I'm in southeast Michigan. Where are you located? Is it a two-valve RS or a 4-valve?
