Thanks at the moment I am waiting on it being delivered so the only information I have is the picture. I was hoping someone might recognise it.

Was it new? If so, link to the eBay auction?

All it said on the auction was "Excellent used condition" and the one picture above. The price was very good so I took a chance. It is in transit at the moment and it is the right colour for my 1100rs†

Always a bit of a gamble buying "used" products unseen (except a photo) - hope it fully meets your requirements. Either way, I guess that you're going to get a shock.

So it has now arrived and has no manufacturing marks or numbers on it anywhere !

It does look very well made, has no leaks and is 380mm eye to eye so all I can do is try it on my K1100RS.

If anyone can shed any light on manufacturer it would be appreciated.

This is a Shock Factory shock: http://www.shock-factory.fr/mshock-amortisseurs.html
They're made in France, near my location. Very good quality for the price, I often work with this company and never had bad returns. Fully adjustable and can be overhauled.
You can ask to Mike Capon, the maker, about this shock. He's british, just call him. Very competent and helpful.

Curious what your "bargain price" was. †Looks like they run about $460 new for the single adjustable.

Hi Chocolate

This is the only way it will fit.

The new aftermarket Spring is wider than the oem shock and if fitted the other way it interferes with the rear brake caliper.

Hopefully I will be able to test it this week.

OK, I see.

Iíve just been irritated because of the picture.
The writing/logo on the picture seam the other way around.
Could be that it wasnít meant.
But maybe itís not important at all.

Cheers and have a nice ride

The adjustment knob makes me think it's a RAM in disguise.

I had the same thought, but there's only so many ways you can add a rebound damper to a shock.

On Ringfad's new shock, the damper adjuster is placed 90ļ from the adjuster position on both the Ram and the Shock Factory images currently on their sites.

Well spotted I had not noticed that.

Looking at their catalogue I see they have two models for 16v BM004A (k1 and K100) and† BM018A (K1100). I am assuming mine is a BM018A as it came off a K1100. Possibly they move the adjuster fitment depending on the bike.

60kms completed today, first 30km going to work was a bit hard but adjusted back by 12 clicks (48 click adjuster on this thing) and it was a lot better. I had initially gone for the middle setting of 24 clicks. Very impressed so far and a great improvement on the 24 year old original.
