Hello Ladies and gents;
I have just acquired some side covers for my K1100LT and unfortunately 2 of the mounting bits ( the circular standoff thing that goes into a grommet on the frame and the "U" shaped device that also connects to a rod on the frame are not only broken but not included.
So if anyone has a busted sidecover ( assume K100 16V similar ) that still has the 2 attachment bits I need I would love to do business with you :O).
Will try to send picture soon.

regards KKlompy

Those things are like hens teeth. I had a cover here that had a steel clip made from box strapping and epoxied to the inside of it.
Don't be too concerned about them falling off as both mine have been broken since I got the bike and both are still with me.

Thats a bugger Klompy .
These are what I found on the back of Smurfettes sidecovers . I''m not sure if the LT is the same .
As Rick mentioned maybe some replicating with a metal clip may do the job .
Ol Blue had some metal clips fashioned up by a PO , and worked quite well.
Just a thought , pop into Bunnings plumbing section . Find some hard plastic tubing or alloy tubing you can split open , and use to adhere to the existing clamp.
Good luck with it .

Same as my k1100lt homemade clips made from hard plastic tubing zip ties and araldite, but they still fall off, I will fashion something similar to the ones mentioned on here, a good post at the right time, don't have a pic, although should put one up to show how not to do it

Just to make you feel like part of the team Klompy, I'm with Rick G, my K1100LT sidecovers have broken clips the same as yours and have been like that for many thousands of kilometres.

I'll watch your fix.

Cheers
