Hi

I recently purchased four NGK D7EA spark plugs for my K100 1983 model.
The spark plugs have a threaded terminal.
Apparently there are adaptors available which can be screwed onto the terminal.
I can't source these parts.
My current spark plugs are Bosch.
I don't know what to do?
All suggestions are welcome and appreciated.
Enjoy your Christmas holiday.

Regards

Gabriel

Contact NGK Australia and tell the tech support guy that you always use NGK plugs in all your engines, but these don't work with your K bike because of the missing Terminal Nut, and can you get a number of the nuts to install on your plugs.

I managed to get a dozen for free from NGK U.S.

Most small engine mower places will give you some if you approach them nicely. Chocolates or flowers will ease the way.
Regards Martin.

Or if you build enough Britbikes, you steal the terminal nuts off the existing plugs then replace both plugs and caps as part of the rebuild

The recommended Bosch plugs (X5DC) don't have M4 threads but a solid SAE terminal.

Hi

Thank you all for your suggestions.
I found a lawn mower repair business two blocks from my house and was given four terminal nuts.
I also sent a message to NGK Australia.
I installed the new spark plugs.
Didn’t notice any improvement Over the old ones.
I want to balance the throttle bodies but I lack the necessary skills and tools.

Regards

Hi

Apologies for the late reply.
I gave the guy some pocket change which was approx $7.00.
A tad excessive but it was the Christmas holiday period.

You can buy a Carbtune  Manometer for about $150.00 AU and it does up to 4 cylinders. Or point seven five may give his plans for his home made one.
Regards Martin.

Or, as I discovered recently, a friend with some nice 70s Honda 4s, seems he has been messing with Ks unbeknownst to me says they will do the job too. I used to have one of those, a CB500-4 and we always had our own gauges but never realised they would work on a K bike.

Olaf!!! They're not motorcycle-specific (okay, so you just found that out Very Happy ). Even a single gauge can be used to balance four cylinders with a bit of mental gymnastics, a pencil and some paper (remember those? Not everybody will).
