I'm happy to report that the sKroll has arrived with me in Invercargill New Zealand for the Burt Munro Challenge.

Richard (KiwiK100) and myself will get as many K owners as we can to sign and get a photo or two.

I will then take it up the West Coast and back to Christchurch and home to the Sunny Coast Queensland.

If you want to catch up and sign my NZ number is 027 609 4632 ........John.

am I ? I had decided that with the move of house , I hadn't had the resources to make the trip
and just now the car has chucked a wobbly and the gear box is broke (known issue on this model of car ) preventing me attending the Karuah rally also , still waiting to hear if I have a replacement coming , for a reasonable price .

but I think Will and Olaf will be bringing the Banner again from familiar territory

Is the sKroll consuming as much beer/kms than gas on a K bike?
With all this travel, it must be few empty kegs of Guiness.

Enjoy your trip Blackbrick.

I think my brother and sister in law will be at that event, although riding Indians rather than Ks. He did borrow mine when he was back in the Old sod, so he is an honorary member. I'll tell him to look out for a gaggle of eccentrics (if that's the collective noun).

It will be much easier spotting a Kluster of K's , than looking for a couple of injuns at a pow wow.

I caught up with John (Blackbrick) at the Burt and a thoroughly outstanding time was had. 3000 plus motorbikes in attendance with a good showing of K's about the place. Tractors (HD's) outnumbered all other marques combined... The weather Gods played the part - mostly - with outstanding weather for most of the event. The beach racing on Oreti Beach where Burt raced was brilliant with no wind, warm, and sunny. Downside was a bloody Aussie cleaned up the 50 mile event but hey, if we don't let the Aussies win from time to time, they won't play with us anymore.
On Saturday Teratonga track racing was its usual impressive close racing stuff, but the top gong went to the speedway Saturday evening which was absolutely spectacular!
The Blackbrick went a sort of mottled, peeling Pinkbrick kind of colour under a hot Southland sun, but he probably doesn't want that shared too far...
The only event cancelled was the street racing on Sunday due to rain. The roads were as slippery as a back street pawn broker and the call was made to cancel after a rider went down during practice.
John visited my home town of Wanaka where the scroll was signed amongst a couple of my K's and I felt privileged to do so, so many thanks to John and Ed for making it happen.

Thanks once again Richard for all your help and friendship. You and all your mates and your lovely wife made my visit a truly memorable experience, you all made me feel so welcome.
My first visit to your beautiful Country.

It would be good to get a group of K enthusiasts together for the Burt from Australia.

And yes........remember the sun screen when in the far south. The sun bites extra hard.
