If anyone's interested I'll sell my K at a reduced price of $10K since it is only mostly original....I'd love to know if anyone is actually getting these kind of prices.  I've seen a few old Beemers (but definitely not collector's items) up at this price level

Personally I'm not into the cafe thing but if I could get $13K for an old K bike then that would definitely change my mind.

Over the years I've seen quite a few Brick Coffee racers been built. I used to go along with a mate, when unwanted parts were being sold off. And in twenty years I have only seen one completed and on the road and that was this year. Tackler and I scored some parts. So the big question is with all these Coffee racers being built where are they? Are they being hoarded away until the Zombie Apocalypse? 85 Cafe - Only $13K on ebay 610153

Martin, I too have never seen an actual cappuccino racer in the flesh.  I suspect that after/if they are completed they are trucked in closed vans to secret urban locations where they can be photographed surrounded by litter in front of a graffiti covered wall.  After the photos, they're loaded back up and trucked home.

I love brains, and sweet breads actually.

Perhaps if I go out in the streets chanting "Bring out your cafe k's" they will emerge  Laughing

My normal offer is $3.50 and a kick in the nuts.  eBay doesn't allow a kick in the nuts so I just made an offer of $3.50 as thats about what it's worth.

Another spares bike.

He sent a counter-offer of $11,000!

Hmmm, maybe I just up my offer substantially to $7

If he comes down $2000.00 for every offer and you go up $2.50 you should eventually get it for about $20.00 US. Surely there is enough of it left to at least double your money? 85 Cafe - Only $13K on ebay 723598 85 Cafe - Only $13K on ebay 44271 Keep going this getting interesting.

I just went through Gumtree ads 6 K100 stock 6 K100 Coffee's, 5 K75 stock 4  K75 Coffee's. As I stated in a previous post it I've only ever seen one Coffee ever on the road. So looking at the Gumtree ads it looks very close to a 50-50 split, so where are all the Coffee racers.

I've owned one Coffee racer in my life a 69 BSA Lightning and it came with all he OEM bits. I was doing pretty big runs Albury to Melbourne and back every weekend. In the space of a month all the stock bits went back on. The seat was first to go, a slightly padded plank next were the rear sets and bars and the Bikini. the only thing left was the megas and they stayed for a while. The chrome peeled within a couple of months and the started to rust, so back to stock.

When I first bought it I fell in love with it's look, but the romance quickly soured. While it looked great it was totally impractical for any distance over 60 K's.
Regards Martin.

This isn't a good thread for me to read. I'm in the early stages of a K75 suppose-you'd-call-it-a-cafe-racer-for-want-of-a-better-name and, well, I sat on it for the first time a few days ago.

I say 'sat' on it. I wedged my toomuchbelly behind the tank and reached forward for the clip-ons, and failed. Took a breath and held it in and lunged for the clip-ons again. Did it with the fingertips, just. Tried to turn the steering to full left lock. Had to let go with my right hand or risk a chain reaction of twanging ligament injuries running from my wrist to my right knee. Straightened the steering. Took a breath. Tried to look up from the tank and vaguely ahead. Funny noise from neck.

I think if I ever finish it, I'll be looking for the nearest graffiti covered wall.

And I'll push the f****r there.

It's just been relisted at $11,499.  I don'tknow if I should go all out at a $5 offer, he might accept it and then I'll have to pay to ship it to Australia.

I've always found it a bit dubious when the seller writes "Too much to list here" when absolutely no one is limiting what they can describe in the space allotted on an eBay auction.
