Guys

I think it would be bery helpful for be to be able to start and tune the bike with the tank off the bike. The tank is also currently in the sprayshop. Problem is that I understand that the tank has to be connected for the engine to start and for the correct pressure to be delivered.

I usually hang a fuel feed from the ceiling. Has anyone ever tried what I want to do?

Cheers

Wait for the tank.  There have been cases where guys have torched their motorcycle being less than extremely careful while working with the fueling.  It's very dangerous with or without the tank on. Besides, did you have enough foresight to remove the pump and fuel level sender from the tank before sending it in for respray? Best to be patient.

Ok will wait. Yes everything cleaned and removed from tank prior. It's amazing how much the tank anti vibe plate had dissolved and turned to goo. Obviously I bought a new plate at an extremely high price!!!

Robmack is right as it's fuel injected fuel could squirt out of the return line or splurt.

It would have to be a very high ceiling to get the pressure you need to run the engine properly, apart from the other issues that have been mentioned. Smile
