Hello all
I'm absolutely newly exposed to BMW's -predominantly a Triumph guy Smile

Answered a local neighborhood forum for someone looking for electrical help with his K75 (lovely bike!!) and was pleased to help

So here I am !

Incidentally I've already inadvertently found two references to posts I've made on other forums  Very Happy

Welcome.  I'm familiar with your work on the Triumph forums. I was researching keyless ignition systems for the K75 and came across your brilliantly written walk-through on the DIY keyless system you adapted for your Triumph, using the K9 Sombra alarm.  It inspired me to adapt the same design to the K75. Nowadays, though, Motogadget produce a mostly plug-n-play solution for the BMW.

Thanks for kind welcome Rob (& also td5)
My keyless has gone through quite a few revisions since then and now is a completely integrated plug n play module with solid-state switching.

The Motogadget is close-range proximity though isn't it? i.e. you have to present the fob physically next to the receiver.
My system is hands-free (as was the Sombra) which is really nice.

I've actually been reading your inverted fuel sensor article - I'm helping Adriaan with his bike and advised he get your TGPI (there is 'another' module on there but it seems to have suffered failure of all the circuits - none of them are working) - I could make more headway on it if I had schematic for it but most efficient (& cost-effective) to just get yours was my advice. So he already passed along that link you provided him.
Once we get the instruments sorted out for him, keyless system might be in his future Smile

And speaking of fuel level sensor maybe one of these - https://www.r3owners.net/threads/the-most-accurate-fuel-gauge-you-will-ever-find.25168/
As a tech aficionado I think you'll appreciate that - BRILLIANT device that a friend of mine developed.
It calculates the ACTUAL Fuel consumed by measuring the accumulated duration of Fuel Injector Pulse time - which is directly proportional to mass of fuel.
It is incredibly accurate - and no messing with level sensing inside the tank!
Works on pretty much any Fuel Injected bike (or car!)
