Hello everyone
I thought that I would introduce myself first before posting anywhere else on the forum.

Hi, Im Leon and live in West Yorkshire and I have aquired a K100 LT 1988 (beige) in August. The bike was given to me in a will from a very close friend who lost his fight with cancer. It was a very big suprise when I was told of what my friend had given me. Paul (my friend) wanted to tell me about the bike just before he passed away so he could see my face but decided to let his wife tell me later on. I know now what B.M.W. stands for ( best mate's wheel's ).

About twenty years ago I purchased a clean second hand R100RS in a lovely mid blue and added a pair of black panniers. It was a really nice bike but had to sell it when I went self employed for a small number of years. Over the following years one by one I sold my other 5 bikes of different types from MZ to Kawasaki.... I came out of motorcycling and freedom to start a family (40's)

It feels nice to be re-united with a motorcycle which I have enthusiasm for. At present the LT needs a little TLC which it is getting at the moment. I had to buy a second hand fuel tank as the original started leaking on the left hand side due to corrosion. I also got a chrome heat shield and toolkit at a good price from a very clean RS with bent front forks!!

No doubt I will be asking for advice when I come to give the bike a service etc.....

Regards

Leon

Welcome to this forum Leon.
It is sad to hear about your friend passing away but I am sure that He would be happy to know that by giving you his bike, he also gave you the opportunity to meet new friends who will help you to keep this motorcycle on the road for many years.
Enjoy the forum.

Bert

Hello Leon,

Welcome to the forum.

I stopped riding bike when I moved from Lower Hutt- NZ to Perth in 1985. My bike at the time was a Suzuki GS400.

Then only few months ago I bought a 1984 K100RS and a Softail (already sold). My bike need TLC very much

I thank this forum for all the guidance and advice.

This is a very good and active forum.

Regards.

Many thanks for the replies and from people around the globe Very Happy
I have just got my tank and fittings placed back on the bike and gave it a run to work during the week. I didnt go straight to work either, I went for a ride around for an hour or so and posed as I rode into the yard......and it felt good.
It may be an old bike but it still has class.......

Regards
Leon
