While out  riding as I stopped and the engine was at idle, the oil light came on. As I open the throttle it went off, it was intermittent. As I got home the light came on and stayed on, I checked the oil level and it was correct. I suspected the switch may be faulty but could not find it, today I checked the photos on here and found the location, I found the wiring on my bike and it was held on by a strand, it had been repaired with a crimped connection. I replace the connector with a Japanese size bullet connector and tightened the spade connector onto the switch. I ran the starter and the oil light switched off as soon as the pump speed was fast enough. I thought I might need a new switch but did not know which type I had, now I know the position and type, I can get a spare.
