Morning all ,

Would anyone have a final drive to fit a base (factory naked) model knocking about? I have one from a K75 to trade/sell.

Why can't you use the K75 unit you already have? Except for reduction ratios, Monolever final drives are all the same.

Are the final drives you have drum or disc brake. What final drive do you require drum or disc.

Matt I have access to a complete final drive with wheel. I can get it pretty cheap PM me if you need it and I'll give you the details.

Hi Martin

The K100 was only fitted with a discs.

alex you only posted "88 final drive required" no specification if it was for a k75 - k100 or anything

martin was trying to help with a logical question about what drive you are offering in exchange, or what is required , as the k75 came out with different options and so did the 88 model k100 ., rs , ltetc so none of us know what actually you are asking for ...

a bit of clarity might help in the topic description and original post by you

there is no description in your profile add ons to what type of bike it is going to fit

maybe revisit your original post and clarify please ???

Ah, that's the getting up too early problem, so let me clarify...

The bike is a 1988 BMW K100 base model, and it came in lots of boxes.

After checking those boxes I found I only had a black K75 final drive, and that's what's currently fitted to the bike.

So, I'm looking for a BMW K100 base model final drive, and happy to trade /part ex the K75 unit I currently have.

alex just a question here , how do you know its a k75 final drive , they re all the same except for possibly the gear ratioin 88

and what gear ratio are you seeking "basics" were rare out here primarily rs or ltk100 were the standard in 88

so again clarity please ...what is stamped on the final drive you have to offer as exchange ...spline count ..and what are you seeking ...88 is usually 20 tooth spline but what gear ratios are you seeking black or aluminium finish ?

K75 is written on the final drive in white marker

As far as gear ratio goes as close to the basic specifications as possible, or failing that probably a unit from an RT in aluminium.

Pictures of the unit and splines would also help. As would the ratio stamped on the housing.

Indeed it would however, its at my workshop attached to the bike ,and I'm at home drinking a beer, so photos will have to wait.

Check if the basic K100 has 16 or 20 spline final drive. All K75 are 20 spline.

If the splines don't match you will need to get the drive shaft to go with it.

My 11/87 K100CJ Basic/2 has a unfinished aluminium final drive, with a 37/11 ratio.
