Registration has just opened for the annual "Ride to Wall" on 05 Oct 19

This is a controlled (police escort riders, at times) large charity ride, from a number of pre-arranged meeting points heading toward the National Memorial Aboretum to pay respects and remember the service men and woman who have fallen in the service of their country.

Ride to the Wall: 05 Oct 19 Nma10

I've booked my place and had a bit of a chat on FB with franktherat about it being a potential KFest meet. He's registered himself too now and has suggested taking another Air B&B to act as a base for the weekend 4-6 Oct 19 (probably arrive on the Friday afternoon, do the ride to the wall on the Saturday, maybe a bit of a ride out (Peak District?) on the Sunday and then wend our way home on the Monday - obviously, scope to drop in/out at any time during the weekend). If the recent mini KFest was anything to go by, it will be a fabulous weekend.

The following is a clipping from the web page:
"RTTW is a unique motorcycling event which gives motorcyclists an opportunity to gather together at a place of remembrance, to pay their respects to our serving and fallen service men and women and in doing so, raise funds solely for the purpose of perpetuating their memory and recognising the sacrifice made.

RTTW Mission Statement

That motorcyclists may gather together and ride as a group to a place of remembrance to pay their respects to our serving and fallen servicemen and women and in doing so raise funds for the National Memorial Arboretum, solely for the purpose of perpetuating their memory and recognising the sacrifice they made.

RTTW Core Values

[*]RTTW is founded on the principles of Remembrance and Respect.

[*]To remember those that can no longer ride by our side.

[*]To give all motorcyclists an opportunity to pay their respects to the memory of the fallen and express our gratitude for their sacrifice.

[*]To show support for the Armed Forces currently serving both at home and abroad.

[*]To raise money for the upkeep of the venue that serves to perpetuate the memory of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice."

Full details as follow:

Obviously, still a long way off (22+ weeks), but there are already 1529 bikes registered (no idea what the limit is) just 24 hours after registration opened. If you are interested in making it a KFest weekend, then please add you name to the list below and make sure you register quickly. Registration cost £11.20 (£10 + P&P), so even if you are not 100% sure you are free - it's not a lot to pay up front and it's all for charity!

Also, check out the KFest page on FB.

Hope we can get a few K bikes in the mix.
More details to follow as planning unfolds.
