Which hand guards should you have purchased? Why didn't these work for you?

I want to fit them on a K1100LT and the brake reservoir with the 20mm MC is a real problem requiring extensive cutting and fabricating a bracket to fit the right hand guard. The mirror stem hole will not get anywhere near where it should. I think almost the whole underside of the guard will have to be removed and then a bracket made to link the mirror hole in the guard to the hole in the perch. Left side is perfect.
Snowbum has an article on it where he fits this particular part No. to an 1100 but the photos show that the guard is a different shape (perhaps an old model)
If anyone has fitted these successfully to a K1100 I would love to hear from you
Motorworks indicate that the Barkbusters Storm will fit the K1100LT

G'day Packo!

I put Barkbuster Storm hand guards on my K1100 when I took it back to naked.
 Handguards Img_2517
The type I fitted are only a single point attachment into the end of the handlebar.

The trick was mounting the mirrors. I made two little Z shaped brackets like the photo below.
 Handguards 1799e910
The threaded hole adjacent to the master cylinder requires a left hand thread bolt to secure the little bracket on the right side.
On the clutch side the hole had been drilled out by the previous owner (NSW Police Force) so I put a standard cap screw right through the perch to secure the bracket for the mirror.

Been on there since late 2016. PM if you need more info.

Cheers

Hi Gaz,
Thanks for the reply and additional info. It has confirmed what I have now worked out from looking at the Motorworks photos and scouring the barkbusters web site. Think the model I need is the universal bar end single point mount and that appears what you have used. I have an appointment at the local barkbusters agent on Tuesday (long weekend here) to try a few types on, so now it shouldn't take too long that I know what I need. Rang a fastener place on Friday to see if they had a left hand thread bolt but no luck with them but didn't try anyone else, think that will be the least of my troubles though. Thanks again for your help, will let you know if I get into trouble.
Disappointed I won't be catching up with you next w/e as I intended to be an attendee but life has got in the way and I have to deliver a car to Darwin for my son who has been posted up there with his job.
