Hi,

My name is Marc, I'm 46 years old. Do I have to say that I'm keen on BMW K ? I live in France in Bordeaux
In short, over 20 years of motorcycle. I drove a lot at the beginning, because it was my only vehicle and I passed my car license well after that of the bike: 30000 km / year. One year with a Suzuki GN125, which I quickly changed after making 12000km in one year. Then 4 years with an XJ 600 (old model before the release of Diversion model). An old grandmother whom I sold at 89000km old ! Then I discovered a K75RT Abs from 1991. Purchased to a grandpa which was the 20th BMW, 6 years old, 12000km ... we did not discuss the price.
I'm not a great mechanical, but resourcefulness, the limited means and, let's face it, incompetence or stupidity of many dealers led me to take care of my motorcycle myself, except for the big interventions.
I drove a lot and due to personal problems I hung up a bit which made my monthly average of trip drop considerably .... I like to say that apart from earthquake, tsunami and hurricane , I underwent everything!
And then, an excuse pushes another, finally I got tired of seeing my machine take the dust in the garage ... I started a tactical approach by turning around and ridding the place of everything that prevented me from approaching it.
In 2011, I turned the key. I decided as well to share all the knowledge I learnt by myself. I created a blog only dedicated to K75 to help others lovers of this beautiful bike !

Best regards to all K bikers !

Thanks for joining us, we welcome you, and are looking forward to reading of your tales of riding your K over the years. We call it K pox, that disease one gets when in possession of the Mighty K: in fact they possess us.

One hint...go to the Profile and then Signature section of the forum and include your year and model there so when a question is asked there's no guessing which model is being referred to.

I was in Bordeaux yesterday, well Merignac to bee exact. I wonder how many people realise that Bordeaux airport used to be RAF Merignac at one time.
Near the end of the war it was taken over by the RAF and they posted two squadrons of French pilots and Halifax bombers from RAF Elvington, in Yorkshire, to RAF Merignac. I bit later it became the start of the new French air force.
Will be there next week Friday to collect the new car.

Olaf,
Very tempting offer, I have Chinnor in July so a French trip in June would throw up some family challenges.
That said, you have started me thinking Twisted Evil
