Does anyone have a rear s/h ohlins shock. I beleive the shocks are different on the earlier 8v.I require 16v

You are correct. The 4V shocks are about an inch longer than the 2V ones.

Hello Beamer , see how you go but if you come up dry they can still be obtained new , this is how I finally got mine , the importer into Australia was able to assemble one for me from the detailed parts list off the shelf , the only part that was specific to my K was the head piece which he confirmed was available from the factory before I gave him the green light to go ahead , yeah yeah I get the $$$$ will be more but they are worth it

Yes it will fit, I am using one off my K1100RS on my 91 16v.

Yeah you are correct. I put a new ohlins on my R1100s and it was chalk and cheese but thats my day ride.
My k100rs is probably the best example in NZ. Its more that the suspension is 27yrs old not leaking etc but a new one would transform its ride.

My 2C worth is to replace the front springs with new progressives as well, while you're at it.

FYI: The factory springs on K100RS4V forks are progressively wound.

An Ohlins from a 93 K1100 will work on a K100RS4V but the later (94+) K1100 Ohlins with a piggyback reservoir won't fit if the K100RS4V has ABS.
