I'm not a fan of big ugly top cases. Back when I bought my K1100RS I found a Reynolds Rack for it and installed a Givi E26N Monolock which is a fairly small, non-flashy top case that gives me some extra storage while touring but is not particularly hideous.

However, since I like to use city cases while splitting in California, those and the 26L top case don't give me a heck of a lot of storage. So a few months ago I started looking for a used larger Givi Monolock case so that work with the Monolock base plate already installed. (I've also installed a Monolock base plate on my K1600GT so I can use it on that bike too.)
 
Most of the good used Givi Monolock cases show up on Euro Ebay sites and shipping is rather spendy so it took several months to find decent one at a low price in the US.  A few weeks ago this like new B37NA was listed for $125 shipped.  I almost bought it but, since the cheapest part on a BMW is the owner, I passed.  It didn't sell so a couple of weeks ago it was listed again for $108 shipped. I pulled the trigger and bought it.
 
As expected, it does look very hideous on a K1100RS but I just took it on a shopping run and between it and Gen III side cases I had room to buy lots of groceries.
 
It's a Monolock so it's not as well-built as the double-walled Givi Monokey line of cases but it is still a nice case and weighs very little.  Although I'll only use it when I "have" to  I am pleased with my purchase.
 

On the plus side, the top plate of it is faux carbon fiber which matches my K1100RS's faux carbon fiber Corbin Dual Sport seat.

From my perspective that Givi box doesn't look ungainly or awkward in any way. It sort of  'matches' the RS. I am not a fan of topboxes, preferring softbags when I travel. I use the original and the second generation 51L BMW 'sport' bags, as well as the 28L version. They clip on and off easily and carry all of my camping gear including the tent, Therm-a-rest, sleeping bag, 12V air pump, tyre plug kit, cookstove, a spare litre of oil (rarely used) & even my Kermit chair fits in there, tho' not the best at security if leaving the bike unattended for a while. But, when I've got to have a hard space to lock things up, the original owner of my red RS Down Undah made up timber slab that sits level and attaches through the OEM RS rack mounts, but accepts the F650GS topbox. I reckon it's about 30 litres or so. It'll handle my Shoei but not my Arai helmet.

I keyed it to the ignition and tank lock cylinders. When it's off the the bike the flat slab works a charm for the softbags.

I miss that bike. It's 17 months now since I changed the oil and filter, treated the tank of petrol, removed the battery and pushed it into its resting place in a storage shed in Beenleigh, Queensland. No doubt it'll rock 'n' roll with a fresh battery and on the first press of the green button.

My K75RT came with a 55L Givi.  It was absolutely hideous, if it was a couple inches wider I think I could have slept in it.  First thing I did was put it on Craig's List and sold it for $175.  Replaced it with a factory 22L and never looked back.

I found out why my Brick was scary to ride on a windy day when I went from 29 Lt and 33Lt Shad .top box to a 22Lt OEM. Totally different bike. cheers Both Shads long gone. My "new to me" big ugly top case - Givi B37NA 112350

I have a 55L monolock on LFB. It lives there because it's useful for chucking my rucksack in for work. Between that and a 100L Mountain Equipment soft bag I can carry enough kit for a week's comfortable wild camping (including food but minus water - that's something that always has to be located). I have a pair of 36L Givi city cases and a pair of 45L Givi side boxes but I can't even remember the last time they came out of the garage roof.

I see beauty in the function of things, Personally tank bags don't look sexy either but couldn't imagine touring without ether. I find them so useful that it is almost impossible to keep them clean and organized.

I have a Siebenrock TK 50 topcase for almost 10 years. It is only big topcase capable for 2 fullface helmets made for original K 100/75 rack. It sits lower than other aftermarket topcases and doesnt affect handling on plus 130 kmh.

Interesting. I've never knew that any third party made cases that fit the factory tail rack.

Topcase - TK50, Standard black

This is something that many of us have been waiting for since the mid Eighties!
Here is a top quality, generously sized top case that will attach to the Original BMW luggage rack of the K1100, K100 and K75 models! The small 22 liter top case was a popular accessory for the early K bikes. Unfortunately, it didn't offer much room and it suffered from a weak latching mechanism. Not surprisingly, the original top case is no longer available. The German company Siebenrock commissioned Hepco & Becker to make this special version of the TK50 top case.
When you travel, you need storage space. The Siebenrock Top case TK 50 offers an entire 50 liters of space for your luggage. The available volume even lets you store two integral helmets, among other things. Despite its generous exterior measurements (length 58cm, width 44cm, height 33cm), the luggage carrier's sporty design is very attractive.
The top case fastens without major effort in the same way as the original BMW case: With the fastening plate attached to the Original BMW luggage rack, position the top case. Open the top case and turn the D-Ring of the fastener in the bottom of the top case 1/4 turn. Now the top case is securely mounted.

I too have one of those and it is very good. Same part number, but mine is branded Hepco & Becker. I didn't think they would still be available.

I see from the site that the mounting plate to go with the rack is not included, so there is an extra EUR40.65 for that. If Wunderlich includes the mounting plate in US, that would make up some of the difference.

Thanks for your information. I will order another mounting plate so I can easily use the box on another bike in my stable. The OEM rack has to be loosened to remove the plate.

I must've had the flash on because it highlighted the red pinstripes on the black-painted three spoke wheels. The paint is a metallic red/gold fleck re-spray by the first owner. It was originally Motorsport white.
