My beloved Vitamin K is sad, ill and crying.

my baby is crying. rear main seal? Screen10
You can see her tears sliding down the curves of her beautiful hard body.
Those tears bring me sadness.

Would these tears be coming from her rear main seal?

If it's making noise at the alternator then you probably just need to replace the alternator rubbers.  Part 12311464877 - quantity 3.

If the rear seal is leaking then you'll have oil coming out of the weep hole at the bottom where the the bellhousing meets the transmission.

thank you duck.
I looked under for that hole and all looks good there (and that is very comforting Very Happy ). It's not making noise at the alternator as far as I can tell, but that gives me more of an idea what I am looking for. I need to squeeze another 1000miles out of her next week of pretty much just highway riding (unless that's a bad idea). Then I'll get in there and button her up tight again with whatever she needs.

It might be a leaking alternator shaft seal and it doesn't look threatening. Here's a thread with one rider's exploration and some other examples, too.

Here's its location behind the intermediate housing.

This is more than I could have hoped for... Answers with pictures.
I'm feeling a bit smarter and feeling good about being able to do this.
