Hi guys, glad to find this forum. Lots of great info. I'm in Arkansas and have recently been gifted a 1986 k100 that was originally my dads. He sold it to a neighbor 10 years ago and he gave it to me last week. The bike came with two gas tanks and a new fuel pump to replace the failed original. I'm having trouble figuring out what the "vent" connections are inside the tank. One is obviously from the flange but the other has a open pipe near the gas cap assembly high in the tank. What does this connect to? I can't seem to find a diagram online anywhere of the in tank connections. One tank has a check type valve on the return, and the other has a port up by the cap flange that isn't commected? I think the tanks are different years. Anyone help a newb get his old mans bike back on the road? Thanks in advance! Brent

Welcome, Brent. Please click the Profile tab at the top of the page then the Signature tab and put your moto's model and year in your signature so it will show up in each of your posts as a reference.

You're asking questions that would be more suitable in the technical section. This section is for hopes and dreams, height, weight, preferences for puppies or sunsets, and a couple of photos of your acquisition. Laughing

This is a short answer. Maybe a moderator will relocate this answer. The fuel return pipe's description applies to later model tanks. You are already aware of the check valve of the earlier model's fuel return scheme.

Ok, i will re post this in the technical forum. Thank you! The vent line inside the tank is my last step to fire this thing up!
