On the evening of 5/13 I got a PM from K100 member Caveman indicating that he was going to be in my hood and asking me if I wanted to hook up the next morning.  Sure, why not?

I met him in Port Townsend and we headed south for a burger.  He got a chance to ride in our lovely Pacific Northwet May weather where it can be both sunny and raining at the same time.

We then rode down Hood Canal to my place.  I’d never seen a Royal Blue K75S in person before.  Obviously not as cool as a Marrakesh Red one but I must admit that it’s a close second.  BMW does have a way with paint.

A loud pipes save lives sticker on a K75 - Caveman must have a death wish given how quiet a K75 is.

I put him up at my place for the night and we spent several hours over beer swapping lies about what great motorcyclists both of us are.  He brought me this great souvenir side stand puck from his ride across Montana.

The next morning we headed further south down Hood Canal to have some breakfast before he continued on his journey.

Caveman: Thanks for stopping by. It was a pleasure meeting and riding with you. You’re welcome any time.

Woodie, a blow-by-blow report complete with a few photos could be a good excuse for a ride down to Western PA and meet up with the Caveman when he gets back.

Duck offer to ride down the northern coast of CA. with me but after seeing the tires on the bike he road down there last time I told him I wanted to save that trip for when I could do it with my wife. Truth is he would have spent more time waiting for me to catch up with him.
Was good times and hope the Duck comes east so we can all get together!

As I explained to you the reason my bikes don't have chicken strips is that when I pay for a tire I want to use all of it.   Very Happy

IMO,
The k75 is one of the best kept secrets. I have only met a few people that didn't care for them that had ridden one mainly do to lack of power. I will gladly trade the lighter power for gas milage and tire ware. I get about 25 percent better on both compared to my 100s. I will admit that I travel light and only tip the scales at 155 lbs.
