Hi guys !

I am very glad to be a new proud owner of a BWM RK100 Rs ! It's still very fresh and I think I'll have a bit of work to do on it before being able to ride it, I am very glad nonetheless !

I am kind of a new rider, I have a Royal Enfield Bullet that I bought in New Delhi, which I used to come back by land to Belgium, crossing some great countries  I you'd like more informations about that, feel free to visit the website of the adventure ! www.theroyalsilkroad.com and also a few videos on YouTube. Welcome!  Just spent the evening watching the videos of your trip.  What an awesome adventure!!!  I have been a fan of the Royal Enfield ever since I spent three weeks surrounded by them in India back in the '80's.  There is something about their sound as they go by.

.75 the mate of my mate who had a Enfield Classic got rid of it after problems. He then got the red Enfield GT which was supposed to be heaps better. He has now got rid of it after numerous problems which the dealer failed to remedy. He now has a new Triumph twin. I still like the look of them.

Royal Enfields have a lot of charm but you need to be patient and accomodate with their temper

Yes, the RE is something you work on more than you ride.  Certainly not like my K bikes that altogether only require one weekend a year to do all the work they require.  For a while I thought it might be nice to have an Enfield around to work on when the weather didn't allow riding my Bricks, but I always get an attack of common sense before I pull the trigger on one.

Their reliability leaves a lot to be desired.  I enjoy reading the customer reviews at the Enfield site, "the piston broke and the frame cracked at 300km, but I still love my new Himalayan, it is a wondrous machine.  I give it five stars." Ajay Mumrabahlegupta, Bangalore.

Thank you ! haha, indeed, it is a K100RS, or it was... I was way too much excited after winning an online bidding of a K100RS but the owner deemed the price too low and don't want to sell it anymore...

A bit of work on the body but it was cheap.

Anyway, the "flying brick" did hit me in the face and I am looking for another one to work on around Belgium ! I'll post anything if I fond something interesting !

Hahaha, this is exactly it, I thought I knew what I was getting into when starting the trip, but was far from the reality. The good thing is that it's a super easy bike to repair, for instance, I welded the clutch drum nut to the bolt getting out of the engine... It's still working today ! I just had to drill into the bolt to wider the passage for the clutch lever

Thank you so much ! But as stated before, I am not anymore the proud owner of a K100RS  I won the auction but the price wasn't high enough for the seller. I am looking for another one now. I really want to have one as a project, make a naked or caffee racer out of a K100.

I'll keep the forum updated if I find something interesting or I am open to any suggestion of good bike to buy !

Good luck in your continuing search for a Mighty K. They really are an undersung beauty in the annals of motorcycling. Fortunately there are those of us who appreciate or have been appreciating them for their inherent quality and quirkiness all along. Time has proven us right and not that we're just quixotic dreamers.

A lovely K100 RS1 from 1992 ! 23K kms and a lovely blue paint.

I’ve been riding my K for ever. I lost the fairing when I hit a Deer in National Park. I’ve got no plans of parting with her, we can grow old together. Already old togetether.
