Black Dog Ride - Newcastle 2019


Its on again , the iconic Black Dog Ride , which takes place in many towns / cities across Australia . 
Following a personal family situation , and knowing how important this issue is within communities , I have decided this year to put my hand up as an organiser. 


So for the first time my local region of Newcastle will hold this event . hope to do us proud .

Good work Ed, well done. Looks like a great route on great roads for a great cause.

I know bill has his Snowy Ride on that same weekend , so I'm expecting a few have already set themselves to go that way .
 Don't blame them . Its a good ride even if they do take short cuts .

Stan  was kind enough to mention the recent write up of the Black Dog Ride in Newcastle , which appeared in the Australian Road Rider magazine , and  I was able to grab myself a copy.

Some pre ride day promotional work taking place at Harry's Cafe de Wheels in Newcastle . 



It was a top day out with approximately 300 riders joining us , finishing at the Fighterworld aviation museum at Williamtown RAAF base , home of the Hornets. 


Smurfette performed well in leading the ride to get conversations started. 


The mascot for the Black Dog Ride is Winston , he donned his green for the day for St Pat's celebrations .


As with many charitable rides in our region , the Black Dog Ride in Newcastle was well supported during our first attempt .
