So I got the chance and courage to have a look at my headstoch bearing! I am glad i did as everything was loose! even the pinch bolts in the forks! I cant decide weather someone replaced/serviced the bearings but got distracted on reassembly or they just worked loose over time? anyway I have tightened everything up and it feels much better however I have not been out for a ride yet. I will just keep an eye on it just in case it does loosen again.
I wonder if the bearings are worn could this also encourage loosening? (maybe on the headstock but surly not the fork pinch bolts?). I now have another job as i noticed oil at the final drive and when i pulled the rubber booth back I got a handful of oil so I am thinking a gearbox output shaft seal well that`s Saturday`s entertainment sorted! K.

Starting to wonder if i doged a bullet, When I first got the bike (after a few miles) I found the rear brake torque arm was loose as well! the front bolt was not a nylock and had about 3 treads to go before it would have falling off!

The oil may have migrated from the rear drive in to the rubber boot.

Hi Mike  I checked the final drive oil and it was full up to the treads, their was a good handful of oil that came out, I have since checked the gearbox oil and it was nearly dry! Rolling Eyes
