The odometer in my 85 K100 has packed it in. I am looking for a video or other resources to understand how to remove, disassemble and repair. Your advice greatly appreciated. Thanks...

Click on the Portal tab under the banner then go to the Tech page. There you'll find a link to a post about fixing speedometers. Within that post are instructions about fixing an odometer, too.

You should post questions in one section only so answers will not be neglected. You've also posted this question in the custom section.

I think I have more to learn about how forums work than about motorcycles. I will now try to find the portal under the banner. Thanks for your guidance.

Just woke up this morning to a non working speedo on my K. Half way along the motorway, it kicked back in, but then back to zilch soon after. She's been out in the rain the last two days - is there a chance that a day in the sun dries out the moisture? Or should I start checking for more serious things?

I have been hesitating to open the cluster up, as I am sure the gasket will be shot. Unfortunately, I don't seem to be able to find a new gasket (62 11 1459232) to be in stock anywhere around here. Will probably order a set of o-rings and try and find one that fits.

I wouldn't worry about the gasket. Even if it breaks you can still re-use it.  Just put the break at the bottom when putting the back on.
