Here in Croatia guy sells K 100/2 1989. Bike looks perfect, but he admitted that the frame was from 75/2. So he advertised lower costs of registration, etc. I answered that frames were not interchangeable, but he said it were on limited series. I dont believe, maybe with grinder and welder.
Any expert to explain?

I dunno, a K100 registered as a '75 (which is what it sounds like) would be cheaper to insure & tax  Laughing

Now the really daft thing, would be to do it the other way round and put a K75 in a K1100 frame..... Rolling Eyes

While the frames are broadly similar the engine mounts and gearbox mounts are all the exact same locations except the front ones....because the K75 engine is shorter the loss of the front cylinder means the front down tubes are different.....longer and raked back more to pick up the shorter K75 engine. If you look at a photo of a K75RT and a K100RT/LT you can see how the fairing '[same on both bikes] has a big space under the radiator part due to the shorter engine.

Fair bit of trickery involved.

Also K75 has a steering damper in the stem, not sure how you work that out.
