Hello!
Im doing a complete restoration of my gas tank (the older one with electrical fuel level sensor), and found a strange piece of rubber tube (same size as fuel hose) squeezed down between the fuel pump mounting plate and the side of the tank.

What is this? Vibration damper? I guess it has gotten deformed since it fell off. Must it be in place? Can it be replaced with a piece of regular fuel hose?

Vibration damper. Most of us don't have one any more. I think MartinW has a photo of one in place?

ok, thanks. Is it not necessary to have that rubber tube in place?

(is it not possible to post pictures here on the forum?)
