Both European and UK cities are tightening emission regulations for entering restricted zone (London ULEZ) and France Critic Zone compliance.

On paper records My 1992 K100LT is not compliant - as too old, but it appears that is initially down to no testing having been done and recorded by the manufacturers.

In London there is exemption if an individual bike is tested and compliant.

Has anyone done tests on a K100 to see what actually are the emissions to get some idea how far they are from compliance?

Once that is established maybe we can devise some simple alterations to get them compliant without going the whole hog of new bikes that the manufacturers have done.

This isn't the first time ULEZ has presented its grizzled visage here. In the July issue of Biker & Bike, an article indicated that Riverbank Motorcycles of East London is performing ULEZ emission test on motos that have no documentation or have never been tested at production. The cost was listed as £175.

So if some beneficent Brick owner has a moto tested, the hope would be that it was in top form so it could be used as a baseline for others who own the same model. One of each group—K100 2V, K75, K100 4V, and maybe even K1100 models that meet Euro3 standards will need to be tested. Any volunteers over there?

I'm sure California is eager to get into a ULEZ income stream in LA, too. They're now looking into banning denatured alcohol and some deodorants.  Laughing
