Hi , so I haven’t really been cleaning my 85 k100 this winter and now that I bought my first house I have a garage to do work. Well I noticed a oil drip on ground. I have never done exhaust work on this bike. It seems like the oil is concentrated on the bolts. These are preliminary pictures I’m literally still under the bike but I can get better pictures soon once I clean it and drive it to look for source. Can anyone agree it’s the exhaust gaskets ?? Thanks

Your exhaust gaskets aren't there to hold the oil in.. scratch

Small leak from the rocker cover seal perhaps?

Well I assumed oil could leak from there from the cylinders. ESP with my k100 known for bad piston rings

Into note it’s been sitting on the side stand for about two weeks when I had a stored somewhere else.

Given that, I'd definately suspect the cam cover gasket.

Ok, I just didn’t see any oil coming from the cover gasket , BUT I need to check again, the only place I get visible liquid oil (even after  wiping) is on the threads of the exhausts nuts .....but when I get home I’m totally cleaning all the grim and crap under my bike so I can definitively tell......so if it is not the cam cover gasket is there a possibility excess oil could leak thru the exhaust gaskets? Especially since previous owner replaced the whole exhaust system maybe he didn’t do gaskets? Or am I just being dumb?  Lol thanks everyone

Clean the engine thoroughly and let it dry. Place paper under the engine and leave it overnight. Check the paper for oil marks and try and deduce where the oil is coming from. If you can't narrow it down, clean again and spray the suspect areas with spray on talcum powder. Your choice of fragrance. You apparently can just use normal talcum powder but the spray on type works better on overhead surfaces.
Regards Martin.

You're getting ahead of yourself.

Follow Martin's and Dai's suggestions; first determine whether the cam cover or the timing chain cover is leaking.

I agree. No point speculating. Just go for the most likely and work through in a process of elimination. Probably valve cover gasket.
Could be oil seeping from the water pump weep hole and blowing back, but it doesn't look like it's been blown around, it looks very localised.
If the sump is a little too full and if it's been on the sidestand for a while, oil can make it's way out an open exhaust valve to the exhaust.
I'd certainly take the valve cover off and clean the gasket or replace it.
Could be worth replacing the header gaskets anyway or if they're reasonably new in the last few years, just nip them up a little.
