Hi Team, need your help. I have a set of the PIAA aux lights on my K1200GT (2003) and one of the bulbs blew. I ordered a spare bulb and received a bulb with reflector part attached. Whilst trying to change it I noticed that the old bulb had the lens attached it seems. The spare bulb looks like the part without the lens and I have tried all kinds of ways to get the lens apart from the original lens/reflector part but have not succeeded.
Has anyone got experience/knowledge to share as I want it back working?....

Thanks and Merry Christmas to all.

Brgds, Rene

PS I don't know the correct part number of the light armature, but its the one that a lot fitted to their bikes 10-15 years ago.

It would be helpful for you to disclose the ways you've tried already, ReneZ. Pictures would be helpful also.

Are you using the lights primarily for conspicuity or for night time illumination?  I ask because if the answer is conspicuity the better way to go is to replace those old lights with LED's.

I had PIAA lights on my RS.  They worked ok, but compared to the cheap LED driving lights on my RT they left a lot to be desired for daytime visibility.  I pulled them off and replaced with LED's and haven't looked back.

Yeah, they aren't as bright at night because they seem to scatter more, but the difference in daylight is awesome.  The scatter may actually be a good thing because it helps off axis visibility in the daylight.
