Howdy people, I currently run a '71 R60/5 bobber and a 1150RTP of 2002 vintage.
I hope to be riding a K100 soon, if I can get it to run...yep you guessed it, thats what has driven me here!
I will start picking your brains ASAP and hope that in turn I can offer help on more general matters.

Paul

Welcome to the forum Paul.

You may have an international crew coming to help you if the bike is not fixed at the end of May.

Hi Paul.

The posse is coming in May. Ferry is booked for May 26th....!!

We will be meeting BobT, hopefully meeting Crazy Frog too.

Planning to stay at St Leon sur Vezere.

We are happy to help you sort things too.

Your offer of help on more general matters.........could be interesting. We may take liberties.

Hi all, looks like your destination is about 200kms East of me, My birthday 19th May so the fridge will be stock and the kettle on!
Incidentally, looks like the overfuelling problem is solved (bad earth combined with a low battery in my multimeter would you believe)

200kms sounds about right. Along the motorway to Perigueux and then down a bit, about 2 hours I should think.

I thought the place rang a bell and then I looked at the map. I was over there last September. One of the days I took my day trip from St Leon and headed over to the coast and to Cap Ferret/Arcachon. We used to holiday at Lacanau-Ocean and Cap Ferret. I cycled a lot of the routes up your way too. Fabulous country but we best not say much about the wines or they will all want some although BobT introduced us to what must be one of the best.

In fact only last night I was looking at potential route down from Roscoff with my friend as there are two of us coming down. One of the suggestions was to head to Royan and ferry across to Soulac. Both of us have stayed previously at Lacanau Ocean too. It's probably a bit commercial but there is a very nice small camp side near St Helene.

As for Christmas pudding........yep it will be along.

My plan is Ferry to Roscoff, arrives 27th May, ferry from Roscoff leaves 15 June. Tent, camp at St Leon.

88 [Will Crean] will be down about 4th June and travel back from Roscoff together.

Now lots of opportunities.

Here's one: Crazy Frog has mentioned a trip taking in Millau and Montpellier. This has been on our list and is a likely happening this time.

ClubC where are you in this? Will we see you??

There is a ferry across at Blaye, makes Brantome nearer and avoids the Rocade car park at Bordeaux.

If we make a trip across your way that might be an option although last time I went autoroute to Bordeaux and then travelled north. Nice route up through Carcans and Hourtin too as an alternative.

Waiting for bike pictures Quzzy, especially the R60, great bikes.

So you leave St Leon to catch a ferry from Roscoff on the 15th of June, how will you have a celebration in St Leon on the 26th then? Sounds Irish to me.

I quite fancy a trip across to Soulac.

I usually bring a small tent in case i decide to leave our camp for a night or 2 to avoid packing up any stuff.

A post has been put up about a K gathering in the Netherlands about mid May so I am keen to travel east from Roscoff to it. No date has been firmed up yet.

A 6 person gite could get a Klatter of K visitors.....that's a great location and a nice 550km run from Roscoff. I more or less do that run in my sleep!!!

Nice run to Cap Ferret from there too. And La Rochelle not to mention many more places.....

Has me thinking....any Eccentrics interested in this?

PS places like St Estephe, Margaux, Blaye, Pomerol are in easy reach........
