I've noticed the front wheel on my RS seems a bit out of true, side to side runout is noticeable to the eye if I lean over and crane my neck just right while travelling at 100 km/h. Is there a way to straighten it ourselves or should it go in to the shop? Can you do it with the tire on? Inge K, did I recently read that you have done this???

No, not me to blame this time.
But it could have been needed during the years, sidewalk curbs haven`t been that friendly at all time.

Ok Inge, I see where I thought you said 'wheel'. You were responding to the front wheel bearing post, and you straightened the bearing spacers.

That wheel looks like it's done to me. My wheel has a minor lateral runout issue only.



BTW what is the fairing on the two bikes in the top header of that thread. The black one is soooo awesome.

Both is K1100RS, same fairing as K100RS but different lowers and belly.

Sexy. Guess I just don't recognize it since I'm used to viewing a Sprint fairing on the RS. I like the way the bikes are leaning in the pix though I suppose from another angle I'd be running to catch them before they fell over...

Give these Cow Hampshire backwoods boys a holler! They have done heaps of BMW wheels for me over the years. A bit far from bucolic and lovely B.C. to the piney woods of New Hampshah, ayuh, the other side of your continent, and no matter they don't have all of their teeth (maybe that's their secret!), the work's good and the prices on par.

Also the Sprint fairing is very nice and suits the bike good.

Have a couple of friends which have these fairings years ago, when we drove together and make a stop,
my friends bikes usually attracts more bystanders than my factory equipped RS.
