Hey guys,
Looks like I'm going to have to replace a front fork tube due to damage. Anyone have experience with the TNK replacement tubes.

Thanks,
OG

Those prices don't seem far from OEM prices - are you sure it's worth the trouble?

Sadly, Dave, the owner at GP suspension, inspected the forks and the nicks on the one tube are too deep. With the news that Portland Motorcycle closed up there doors its just been a piss poor bike day all around! Might be time to get something modern...

You don't really mean that do you OG. Something modern might not present you with the challenges the older machinery does, but its the sense of satisfaction from the older ones that appeals i reckon.

If you go for the Bonny, I've got a killer rack for that single seat.
BUT, I think that you are my closest geographical Allie and as such I must put forth some effort to prevent you from riding of into the sunset (read rain clouds) on benign machinery leaving me with the prospect of working solo in frustration.

But if you do go, can I have your one good fork?

Cheers, M

Thanks guys. I appreciate the support. I've taken a chill pill and am doing better today. Just tough to see so many things you luv close up shop. Kind of reminds me of Seattle back in the early 70's when they were getting ready to roll up the city...

So I have a similar problem - perhaps not as extreme as OG's - and I'm hoping that I have a fix.

I have a pair of 'Brembo' forks (no fork brace) that I recently found - in good nic.
Will those stanchions fit the 87RS model buckets?

It seems to be the same fork save for the brace.

Cheers, M

Hey Mark,

I'm hoping to get my front end apart this weekend so I should be able to take measurements and do some dry fitting. I'll let you know what I find...
